They came looking for food dropped by the little birds from the feeder and they ate and ate.
When they were STUFFED (smile) they decided to sun themselves. After all, isn't a golden brown color on the turkey best!
The first two images were taken last Friday as I was perusing Sky Watch entries. They were taken out my sunroom window. It is a view I enjoy every day through good weather and bad. Sitting at my computer a couple of days later I could hear the unmistakable sound of aircraft and grabbed my camera. I was just in time to step out on my deck and snap a quick picture of the 'spider in the sky' as it flew over. 
This big guy was the highlight I saw through my window this week. You can see he wandered in close to the birdbath under the oak tree. I was surprised to see him. He probably shouldn't make himself too known to too many. Why?
He's liable to be some hunter's trophy prize!
I have been joining Robert (Thoughts of a Father) this week in his photo project titled "Show Me." Today he has asked participants to post photos of their favorite views from their home. For a few weeks now I have reserved Thursday to post photos of the view Through My Window. It is one of many favorite views in my home. One day this week the skies were gorgeous. I love sitting at my computer and being able to see nature all around me. For some thirty years I lived in a subdivision with someone living on each side of me and in front and back of me. It is a wonderful pleasure to look out and see space and nature.
This week the turkeys have been coming in to the yard in great numbers some days. They come to eat the spilled seed from the bird feeder. This past Monday there were ten here together as you can see. There were seven gobblers and three hens.
And who wouldn't love this view! This is one of two fawns that have come to the yard this summer. This one is the youngest and seems to like the flowerbed around the oak tree. I took this on Sunday but I've seen it everyday this week.
The skies are the best thing about the view out my window. This was just before sunset the other night. I did walk out on the deck and take this so it wouldn't be through the glass of the sunroom window..jpg)

On Thursdays I post something for you to see that I've seen Through My Window. What was I going to post this week that I could possibly tie in to Jientje's Opening Doors Challenge? It wasn't looking so good until the idea came for me to show you at least part of the big old oak tree that I have often talked about in this blog. I sit everyday and gaze through it's branches that shadow the yard below.
Hanging from one of those branches is a bird feeder that helps supplement the meals of some of the birds that visit it daily. What the cardinals and sparrows and occasional mourning dove let shake to the ground the squirrels, turkeys, and bluejays feast on from below. My little feathered friends keep me amused on a daily basis. Sitting in my sunroom looking around something caught my eye and I had a tie-in for the challenge.
What caught my eye was this glass-like doorknob.
The doorknob was attached to the church birdhouse sitting on my sunroom floor. The doorknob is for a little birdie to perch upon before entering his house. There you have it - I still got to show you the view Through My Window and a little 'door detail' as well!
It's Thursday again and time for my weekly feature of showing you what I've seen through my window. Late Wednesday afternoon it began to rain and rained off and on during the night and picked up again all day yesterday. While the rain was a blessing for the garden and yard plants; the view out my window has been a little bleak these past couple of days.
While the rain on the window didn't come out as well as I would have liked, I am beginning to think of this image as my "Impressionist" work. Ha, Ha! I'm sure Monet or Renoir are looking down on me and seriously disagreeing. Let's just call it digital impressionism. You all can stop shaking your heads now. I like it, it's my blog, it's posted!
Tom came looking for corn - rain or not!
Though the weather was more fit for ducks than humans we needed to go out nevertheless to buy some hoses for the garden tractor as well as pick up some milk. This photo is through the Jeep window looking at the windows in front of the store.

These were the visitors I saw through my window this week. You can see the deer really are close to the house. If you enlarge this first pic you can see where a buck deer is lying in the grass to the left making himself at home. In the right side of the photo you can make out the the legs of another deer standing by the Rose of Sharon bush. There were six or seven deer on Monday.
Zooming In On The Buck
Since I've been participating in Quilly's Photographic Reflections Challenge this week I thought I would show you the outside of my window with the reflections of the huge oak tree I often talk about and the tops of some walnut trees. 
I mentioned last week that on Thursdays I would be posting different views that I happen to see through my window. This was a view early one morning last week. The fog had drifted up off the river. I love it. It reminds me of fall which is my favorite season. Then too, the words of Carl Sandburg always come to mind. His poem is one of my favorites.
As I was leaving to visit my daughter last week Jientje left me a comment that she had something for me. It was this cute little You Rock award. I have to thank her for this wonderful gesture. She handed it out to me for being a faithful visitor of her blog and said she was a huge fan of my work. She's a huge fan of my work.
