Midweek Blues and Skywatching

I happened to be in the right place at the right time when the hospital helicopter near my Mom's house was taking off. From the scenes we watched it appeared they were just practicing.
It was pretty neat being this close. I did take a couple of more shots as it got higher but the drab gray day and flat sky all but washed out the helicopter. However, the next evening gave way to lovely pastel colored skies!

Sky Watch: A Child and A Toy

Tuesday there was a break in the snow and cold and the skies off my back deck beckoned to be noticed.
It's hard for others to see what we 'think' we ourselves see in the clouds. On the right side of this one I think I see a child running with their arm bent at the elbow and glancing back to the clouds behind.
If you don't see my vision it's ok. I hope you'll look up wherever you are and find one of your own to enjoy.
In this shot I tried to capture the noisemaker who had come interrupting my quiet solitude. The shot is blurry but if you enlarge it you can see my distractor of peace and quiet. Looks like a toy to me. :)

Through My Window
Skywatch: Spider In The Sky

The first two images were taken last Friday as I was perusing Sky Watch entries. They were taken out my sunroom window. It is a view I enjoy every day through good weather and bad. Sitting at my computer a couple of days later I could hear the unmistakable sound of aircraft and grabbed my camera. I was just in time to step out on my deck and snap a quick picture of the 'spider in the sky' as it flew over.
