Scavenger Hunt Sunday

1. My Passion

...is my Grandchildren

Lily - age 3 1/2
Lucy, age 2
Sammy, age 7 months

2. Sound of Music

We heard the sound of music in our home quite often when our son and daughter were young. Our daughter played the violin and our son played the violin, the guitar, and the drums. He was part of a garage band in his high school years which practiced at our house - oh, the SOUND of MUSIC! This is his guitar with his pick left right where it left it. I took it outside in the natural sunlight and really like how the pick caught the sun and reflected on the headstock of the guitar.

3. Inner Beauty

The inner stamens of a lily.

4. Ethereal

I wasn't sure about this one but the more I looked at it the more I was really happy with it. This is a plume of my Smoke Bush. The little pin point yellow flowers have almost all fallen off leaving the smokey plume. The background just seemed to come together and give this image its fairytale colors.

5. Sharp

Weekend Reflections

(enlarge for best viewing)
I took this back in June when my lilies were still in bloom. Here you can see them reflected in the small pond by our gargage. The wood siding is also reflected.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Stamens Standing Tall

(enlarge for full enjoyment)

This lily bloomed in my yard last month. It's at the end of my driveway where I had pulled in and stopped to open the mailbox. I had my camera with me and just grabbed it and took a few shots. This is exactly how the image came out of the camera. No enhancements, no cropping.

Mellow Yellow Macro Monday

The little green bee lands on the anther and holds on for his meal.
He even hangs on upside down for the yummy pollen.
He makes sure he covers every little grain of pollen that's on the anther.
Sometimes he barely holds on in midair!

The Lilies Are Blooming

While out capturing yesterday's sunset post I noticed the lilies by one of the ponds were blooming and I snapped this photo at near sunset. Be sure to click on this one to enlarge and find the little surprise on the single petal to the left. He's a very light color so look closely.
Yesterday after a hard pouring storm the daylily looks almost like crepe paper.
This is the same lily in the first photo but after the rain. I was surprised by the pond reflection on the right when I downloaded this last night. I assure you it was a pure accident; but I was very pleased.

No matter where you are today I hope your skies are filled with sunny skies and not a raindrop in sight!
