LET IT SNOW!

The Front Yard
The Tree Branches
The Way Out
A Giant Bulb Hanging Outside

This has been my world since Friday night. Yes, it is lovely and just the ticket these few days before Christmas. Should those of you without snow experience a little bit of envy let me tell you that I have also been without electricity since Friday night as well. This post is coming to you because Hubs has a generator going part of the time to warm us up, allow us to cook, and for the most part keep us from being totally miserable. Nights it gets a little cold. The news is reporting electricity should be restored to all by Christmas afternoon. Uh, that's four days away!!!!
A blessful Sunday to you all - keep warm. :)

Shadow Shot and SOOC Sunday

This is my son and daughter in law's lovely little breakfast niche in their home. On the Sunday morning we were leaving I thought the sun coming through the blinds created some lovely shadows.
There is one of these little alcoves on all but one floor of the four story home.
Oh, by the way, under that cake platter on the table was the remains of a german-chocolate cake made with coconut flour. My son found he is allergic to wheat flour so they have been experimenting with alternatives. The cake was delicious!!!
This is my grandkitty Susie soaking up the warmth of the rays on that gorgeous reflecting wooden floor. I love the shadow of the blinds on the floor and the shadows in the chair seat and sweet Susie!
Both images are as they were - straight out of the camera!

SOOC Sunday and Macro Monday

(enlarge for more detail)
Both shots are straight out of the camera.
I think this will be the last of my Rose of Sharon blooms for this summer. The little fawns nibbled off quite a few buds; but I've enjoyed both the deer and the blooms that made it!
And for those of you still waiting - at least one baby pic tomorrow - I'm still working in veggies!

Stamens Standing Tall

(enlarge for full enjoyment)

This lily bloomed in my yard last month. It's at the end of my driveway where I had pulled in and stopped to open the mailbox. I had my camera with me and just grabbed it and took a few shots. This is exactly how the image came out of the camera. No enhancements, no cropping.

SOOC Sunday and Macro Monday

This was taken this past Thursday as my black-eyed susans were just beginning to bloom. They front really tall ferns in the flowerbed and as it was getting toward evening I'm assuming that contributed the midnight green background color. It is one of the things I liked most about the shot.
Only ten minutes earlier I captured this little fairytale creature flitting around the flowers but he wouldn't sit still and stay for portraits.
