This past weekend we had our first substantial snowfall and the birds were everywhere. I had so many flitting around it was almost overwhelming. However, looking out at the snow and all the red patches dotting the ground and bare branches was quite exciting. I love the cardinals year round but in winter they brighten up the cold gray days.
Here Mrs. Cardinal sits all puffed up waiting for her turn on the suet feeder. She is so pretty.
Here's a shot of both in the nearby oak branches. Ahhh, yes, love is in the air.
Valentine's Day is a day to tell those we love, well, that we love them. It makes no difference if it's our husbands or wives, our children, our grandchildren, our parents or our friends. We all have someone we love that loves us back.
