Project Green: Take Two
Project Looking Through: Take Five

"Every Litter Bit Hurts"
I originally had something more fun to post for Project Green. Then - I shot the above photo yesterday. I had gotten out of my jeep to take some shots of the beautiful blue and white sky. When I came back around the side of the jeep to get in the door I noticed the green bottle above the bank next to the road. I zoomed in for the resulting shot thinking maybe I could use it. Later on in the day when I remembered it was Earth Day I knew this was what I would post.

I grew up in an era of Public Service Announcements like Keep America Beautiful, People Start Pollution; People Can Stop It, and the caption under my photo about litter. I know many people just won't do their part; but their trash is their trash. All I ask is that they be responsible and dispose of it in an appropriate way. Honestly, I know it's not always easy being green. I would hope people would recycle; but if not I wish they would just put it in the garbage. Throwing it out the car window alongside the road just won't do! I'll get off my soapbox now and promise that tomorrow I will post something a lot more fun and without any words. :)

Project Looking Through: Final Post
Happy Earth Day

This was my sky today off the corner of my front porch today. You could hardly ask for a brighter more beautiful day. I know if you look closely through the bottom of the green bottle up there you can see all the dirt that has accumlated. Although, I thought this shot looking through the bare branches to the sky was pretty appropriate for Earth Day!

I know that feeling, I was taught and taught my daughter to respect nature. You simply don't litter. So you picked up the bottle and put it in a recycle bucket? Happy Earth Day to you!

It is still April 21st here. In fact, it is only 8:11 p.m. We live at the end of the earth.

Awesome post for both Projects!! The picture of the sky is beautiful! I saw the same kind of scene with the bottle and barbed wire near the canal the other day, I didn't photograph it though.

Lovely sky! Perfect photo for earth day. I totally agree about littering. I cringe every time I'm driving down the highway and see garbage on the side of the road.

A truely great Green, Through, and Earth Day combined post... not just that but Kermits words sounded just right today as well. I enjoyed Kermit yesterday but the Green message got 'Through' more..

A big smile from both tom and Jane today.. who went Wow as soon as she heard her little green friend. Jane like me is a big Muppet fan..

Carletta, it's so much fun visiting your blog! Kermit singing to me, the fantastic green bottle as litter, the beautiful blue sky. Happy Earth Day to you!

I love the green bottle photo and your post is just great for Earth Day. I get so disgusted with my fellow Americans when I see the garbage on the sides of the road. Doesn't make any sense to me.

The photos are great, but Kermit makes the whole experience!! :)

Great bottle shot for today! But isn't it sad how some people disrespect the earth?

Happy Earth Day :)

Very appropriate shot, as many have said before me.

I like the looking through photo too.

I'm not a big environmentalist but doesn't commons sense say that not littering and recycling are good things? I guess common sense is not so common. Thanks for the awareness.

I was looking at your blog and once again the Kermit song started playing. It made my smile, then my roommate gave me this funny look. I had to explain about Project Green!

I like how you found green in an unexpected place!

Of course there is still a slice of home made chocolate cake ...

As for the cowboy, no I've never been but I like the idea of living on open space.

The bottle makes a fantastic photo for your project green but not a good example for Earth day! =)
Thank you very much for dropping by my blog and the nice comment, I appreciated it!

Your picture not only fits both projects, but it also contrasts the green of Nature and that of human disrespect for it. Great post!
