Barn or Hangar

This is another barn from our weekend trip in early October. It was across the road from the barn I posted with the ad on it. It sat in a huge field - no cattle or horses could be seen. There was a long stretch of bottom land on both ends. Look closely and you can see to the back of the barn an aviation windsock. Everything we saw led us to believe this was a short airstrip. We passed this barn both ways and could not see behind it. It would have been nice to know if a small plane or helicopter was parked behind.
Enlarge the image to see the windsock, the lightning rods and the lovely fall foliage.

Teeny Tiny Window Views

Teeny Tiny Windows of a Teeny Tiny Church
(click to enlarge to see detail on darker window)
Last week as Hubs and I were ending a day of sightseeing off the beaten path we drove back to the interstate to head back home. We pulled off at the first rest stop and sitting just across the way was this little tiny church. The path from the rest stop back to the interstate had us passing it on the way to the entrance ramp. Hubs stopped so I could take a couple of pictures.
There was no sign and no explanation of why it was there. Perhaps just a calming respite for travelers on their continued journey. Except for a sky shot as we entered the interstate it was the last photo I took. Looking back, that somehow seems a fitting way to have ended the blissful day.
