Yard Art From My Childhood - Part Two

Last week I reminisced about some of the yard art my Dad put together when I was a young girl. To the right of the area in the photo from last week stands this combination birdhouse/feeder that my Dad made many years ago. I'd say it has been about twenty years that it has stood in my Mom's yard. The wood has aged to a wonderful patina.
Not long after putting it up a couple of bluebirds made it their home and many bluebird couples have used it since.
As luck would have it the day I took the photo of the birdhouse a little bluebird flew upon the electric wire above my head. I think he was telling me not to get too close!

The little birdfeeder is such an appealing style! It would look so lovely in a garden! And how lucky to photograph the little bird as well!

It really has aged beautifully - we should all be so lucky!

Oh how neat, Carletta.... Your Dad was quite talented, wasn't he???? That's neat to have their food and home next to each other like that....I'll bet that alot of Bluebirds have enjoyed that nestbox--all through the years.

Thanks for sharing.... I LOVE it.
Hugs,
Betsy

Very appealing birdhouse. Glad to know it stands the test of time, in fact, gets better with age.

I like the look of that birdhouse. It must be quite appealing to bluebirds too.

I find bluebirds to be very selective, so it's wonderful that they are comfortable with the lodgings you and your Dad have provided through the years. What a cute and functional house and feeder!

I really like the bird house/feeder your Dad made. The design is neat and it has aged beautifully. No wonder the bluebirds like it so well.

The birdhouse has held up well after all these years. I still have some birdhouses that my dad had made; they are in storage.

Wonderful Carletta! A beautiful home for many generations of blue-bird families. Glad you shared it and the picture of one of the current inhabitants.

This little feeder really has stood the test of time! The patina has made it even prettier than it was when it was first made. Made by your father, I can imagine you love it!

This birdhouse is special as it has stood the test of time. Countless birds have been in and out of it over the years. What a treasure to keep in your heart.
