The cold temps and snow and ice have been gone for a little over a week now and look who surfaced in the pond. This little pair came up from the bottom but they don't look like they're quite ready to stick their heads out yet. Or perhaps they're asking 'does this rock make our butts look big.' As I walked by yesterday I didn't see but heard a little frog plop into the water so the pond is indeed coming out of its long winter slumber. These sights and sounds are a wonderful prelude for what's to come and I can hardly wait!

It is nice to finally see signs of spring. I saw some frogs yesterday.
Lovely little fish! A sure sign of spring, I can not wait for spring.............it is a muddy mess here right now.
Oh, we can't wait for warmer weather to arrive either! What lovely shots of the fish - we loved the suggeted conversation they might have been having too, he he he! :)
Sweet little tails peeking out.

I wish spring would hurry up here in the UK... I need to feel some sun on my back... ..
I just had a catch on on your posting... those snow flakes are stunning...
Greeting to your watery friends!
Wow they are so ready for spring and summer.
Please come and find out if Champ & Chelsea get along. Happy weekend!
great shots.they are so cute with their tails peeking out. spring definitely just around the corner.
The composition of this photo is wonderful, Carletta! I keep promising myself I'm going to have a pond but never can seem to find the time to get it started. Maybe this summer?
This is so pretty. I really like Koi. At Ala Moana Center they have tons of them in the pools all over the mall. Just wonderful to look at. :)
great post, I loved it. And great photo too!

How cute! Can't wait for spring to arrive. I'm so tired of wearing a coat!
Funny fishie butts!
You can tell those little fish I don't think their butts look big ;) This is a lovely photo, have a great week Carletta.
Cute! I can't imagine swimming in such cold water...fish are tough critters! You enjoy every sign of the approaching warmer weather...it must be SO exciting!
Cute fishy tails!
Nice pic.
Darryl and Ruth : )
I can't wait to hear the spring sounds...all the little frogs, etc.
what a lovely photo, they seem very shy fish!
Sorry I have been so scarce. I enjoyed scrolling down and catching up a bit. Can't believe you have had temps in the 70s. I'm jealous. We have warmed up considerably here, though, so I can't complain. Snow out front is almost all melted. We had awful winds yesterday that I thought would blow my house down, but it's still standing.
I'm always awed by the strength and resilience of nature. Things you (well I) don't really think about - like how fish survive under the ice in winter.... nice photo... as were all the outhouses, cattails and giant cacti below.... not to mention those adorable granddaughters.
Yippeee... Spring is on it's way!
Like Raven I also wonder how such creatures survive in the freezing winter. Oh, the wonders of nature! Thanks for sharing your lovely picture.
Carletta: How cool, I used this same theme on my header post this past Wednesday.
I think they are also waiting for spring, lol !
Wonderful ;-)
Love the reference to Dr. Seuss!
Hugs and blessings,
