A Sunset Surprise

Sunday evening as I sat at my computer I noticed there was a lot of pink in the eastern sky. Usually this means there's a lovely sunset on the other end of the house. I grabbed my camera and headed for the front porch to see what I could capture. I wasn't disappointed as you can see.
While I was on the porch snapping photos I thought it might be a good idea to water the ferns. They were hanging there not looking too good and a little lopsided as well. I have four and I usually take them down, water them and then put them back up. I had taken one down and reached for the bottom of the next one when a bird flew out past the porch to a nearby tree. I suspected I had disturbed someones little home.
and....SURPRISE!

I'll be keeping watch and watering carefully!

Beautiful sunset! I can't wait to see what kind of bird has a nest in your plants!

blue bird eggs? Or did that tint come from my screen settings?

Oh my. I hope you can water a little around the edges and not soak the eggs. This will be a trying experience for you. Trying to protect eggs and then baby birds and still keep the flower. Flowers are cheaper than birds which are nice to hear and they do nice things for us. But it is a choice.

Now it is a wonderful photograph and I have enjoyed seeing it. Maybe you have surprised yourself too. I think it is nice.

Thanks for your visit to my blog and for the comment there. I do my best to repay visits with visits and comments with comments. I like to be somebody you can count on.

How do you get all the bird eggs? I don't think I've ever found a nest in my yard... But that might be because I can't seem to grow a flower in my yard! I'm so glad I can come and enjoy YOURS!!! :)

OMG!! Your going to be grandma to triplets!!!
This is so cool, you have a project, without having to do much of anything except watch. Now that is a project I could do in the heat of summer. :) LOL! Raising our own kids should be so easy.

I used to hang 3 ferns on my front porch every summer and every year, I had at least one nest with eggs. The mama birds didn't want anyone to walk onto my porch and would dive bomb anyone who did. I had to stop hanging the ferns, since I was running a business from home - it was hard to have clients come in!

Nice photo of the night sky. We also have birds making nests in our hanging plants. This year, as last, we purchased plants that are prickly to the birds. So far, no nests. I hate to do that, but it is almost impossible to water them and then they die. Great pictures of doors/opening. I enjoyed looking at your pictures. Mustang Mike
