Skywatch Friday AND ....
From The Ground Up - Day Six

Watching the Skies Over the Ohio River

These two photos were taken during a Sunday drive almost two weeks ago. There had been lots of rain so the river is quite high. I am standing on the West Virginia side of the river looking across into the state of Ohio. If you enlarge the first one and look closely you can see a tugboat on the right side of the photo just "Rolling on the River." Despite the dark clouds there was no rain on this day. I sat by the river for a good little while and enjoyed the sun and the breeze and watching the sky! For more Skywatch participants please visit Tom at Welcome to Wiggers World.

From The Ground Up - Day Six

This photo was taken for a photo challenge hosted by Jeremiah of My World In Pictures! The theme is From The Ground Up. I took this Memorial Day outside the restaurant where I had dinner. It actually fits both categories I'm posting for today; but I have so many sky photos to share I decided to post all of these!

I wish I could take a very long walk watching so peaceful and relaxing landscape!

I saw that bridge not long ago and was even on it. So from the Ohio side looking over at my mom's West Virginia, I can say this is a nice river to cross from time to time.

Ah, great photos but I found myself listening to the music first before I could get myself to actually write the comment out! Heh.... too bad they couldn't continue the music while still writing the comment!! LOL

I love how you're always on the lookout. And how nice you got to sit and take it all in. And then we all get to reap the rewards by viewing here!

Carletta, beautiful shots out toward the river. I'm reading a book called The River Queen by mary Morris. It's about her father and her trip down the northern Mississippi... :D

These are wonderful views of a part of a country I have never seen in person. Thanks for the lovely tour!

Wonderful shots. I like them all:)

The Ohio looks very high indeed and a bit muddy too. Funny, when I think of West Virgina I think of hills and mountains, not walkways beside a major river. You've opened my eyes!

CCR. You can't beat that. I love rivers. You did a nice job with the sky over the river.

A lot of rivers are high and muddy right now but it's still wonderful to walk by them and enjoy the scenery. Lovely photos again Carletta.

CCR rocks! So do your pictures. I love the last one, it makes me dizzy to look up like that. So looking at your "from the ground up" is much nicer.

Lovely views, but I couldn't enlarge the first photo to see the Tug Boat.

Whoa... deja vu! That second pic looks a lot like a view I saw in Louisville, Kentucky around two weeks ago. We were crossing the Ohio River from Indiana into Kentucky. I didn't take that particular shot, but others that were somewhat similar. It was crazy... I DID take the pictures WHILE driving, but on full automatic, not being careful about aiming, and surprisingly, some of them came out semi-decent (after cropping & straightening).

That first shot looks so much like England.

Thanks for stopping by yesterday to welcome me to blogland. Really like the pictures of the river and the song, too. You have figured this out really well....it is taking me a while to sort out all the parts and mine may get more interesting soon.
