Macro Monday: Bee Pollen

We have had some beautiful sunflowers this summer that are a variety of autumn colors. Since they are at one end of our garden and I can't see them often hubby cut some and I arranged them in an aluminum pitcher on my back deck. The bees love them. They are quick little guys darting in and out of the flower centers and hard to capture but I finally got a fairly decent shot.
The black and yellow colors of the sunflower center provide a lot of camouflage for the little bee. Look how full this little guy's pollen sacs are - amazing!

Today's Flowers: A Bee On The Sedum

This is a photo of the Sedum that bloomed in my flowerbed a few weeks ago. It is the last photo I have of the flowers in my yard that I haven't posted. I have so enjoyed the Today's Flowers meme over the last few weeks and hope that other flower opportunities will arise so I can still participate from time to time. I hope you enjoy seeing the pink Sedum and the bee visitor who was probably enjoying it the most.

I'm leaving first thing this morning to visit Grandbaby Lily and her Mommy and Daddy. I can hardly wait to see them all. For the next few days I'm trading in computer keys for baby rattles, stories of unicorns and butterflies, and lots and lots of cuddle time.

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend coming up filled with your own brand of fun. I should be back home sometime Tuesday night. You can bet I'll be checking in on all of you Wednesday to see how much trouble you all have gotten yourselves into while I was away! Until then....
