Tufted Titmouse
American Cardinal
Chickadee
Mockingbird
(or an Angry Bird)
:)
It's Monday afternoon here as I type and the sun is shining brightly but many inches of snow still blanket the ground which has been the case since mid-February. It was snowing at three o'clock this morning because I heard the plow truck backing up on our rural road and got up to look where that incessant beeping sound was coming from in the middle of the night.
It is just above freezing at thirty-three degrees but tomorrow they are forecasting almost fifty degrees and rain. A warmup! The snow will be washed away! Well, for a bit. It seems the 's' word is in the forecast for Thursday with temps back down to twenty-four degrees. I am so ready for spring. I know it's coming. The first true sign of spring, Daylight Savings Time, begins this Sunday. Hoping the extra daylight hours help with the cabin fever and hoping more that this time next week I will be able to post my first sight of the robins returning to celebrate Spring. Well, a girl can hope!

ReplyDeleteOutstanding close-ups. And I am also so ready for spring!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of the birds.
ReplyDeleteThat feels early for daylight savings time but I guess it's the rule.
ReplyDeleteThese are great close up shots. It's amazing they all seem to have such different personalities....Spring is coming; we just have to hold on little longer it seems....
ReplyDeleteGreat birdie pictures... Your Mocker does look mad... I have a picture of a Pileated Woodpecker where he looked MAD like that...
ReplyDeleteWe have warmed up this week --but another storm will come through here on Wed. Hope it's just rain and not ICE.
Hugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeletelovely photos, even that angry mockingbird is great to see.
ReplyDeleteYour photo of the Tufted Titmouse is excellent, but I have to admit that the 'angry bird' made me smile.
ReplyDeleteHello Carletta!:) What wonderful closeup pictures! Love them all but especially the Chicadee and the angry Mockingbird captures.
ReplyDeleteI hope your weather improves soon. We are exspecting warmer brighter weather within the next few days, and I'm glad of it. Spring is just around the corner, chin up!:)
Wonderful collection of birds, Carletta.. I love the look on the Mocker! Great photos, enjoy your day!

Great lot of birds.
ReplyDeleteSuch sharp, clear pics! I love them all, but especially the tufted titmouse one.
ReplyDeleteI am so ready for spring, but the dreaded four letter word is in our forecast again, too.
Sorry the snow keeps coming! Loved your photos, especially the titmouse! We don't do Daylight Savings Time in AZ, so when you guys "spring forward" it means we will be three hours earlier than the East coast instead of just two. :-(
ReplyDeleteGreat close-ups! Perfect with the seed in his mouth, too.

These are just wonderful shots!
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots!
ReplyDeleteLovely captures.
ReplyDeleteYour birds have such distinct personalities; love the angry one! But all so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI can't claim light deprivation, but I'll be de"lighted" when DST starts; back to my evening walks (and sleeping in an extra few minutes -- as soon as it begins to get light in the morning I am wide awake.)
