This is yet another barn from my trip last October. That weekend trip has given me many weeks of photos for Tricia's meme. This one was sitting right alongside the rural two lane road we were traveling. Hubs pulled right up to this gate to let me take a couple of pictures. I love those mountains as a backdrop for this farm. I hadn't noticed before downloading that a train track runs behind where you see the newer shorter storage silo.
For those who visit me often you won't be surprised that the quilt square on the barn captured my attention right away. This photo is a little washed out but blogger kept wanting to post a better one sideways. I get so frustrated with Blogger. But, I digress.
This little structure sat just past the barn. I'm not sure what it was used for but I liked it. In the background you can see the 'manor house.' It was a huge old house. You can also see that we were indeed right beside the road.
Linking to Tricia's Barn Charm.

ReplyDeleteHi Carletta,
ReplyDeleteYes, ma'am, that mountain really makes for a nice backdrop for the farm! I'm wondering what the lil barn or structure was used for, too... maybe an old cabin? Whatever it is, I bet there's an interesting story there!
Thanks so much for joining this week's Barn Charm =)
I really like the mountain setting of the barn and silos in your first picture. I also like the weathered look of the last building you showed.
ReplyDeleteWe have several quilt barns in our area. You'll have to come down and add to your collection.
so charming . . . have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteThe barn quilts are always so nice to see. Wonderful captures! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely barn photos Carletta.
ReplyDeleteI enlarged and did see the train tracks behind the silo thingy (was wondering what that was till you mentioned it...not a country girl!!)
The other building looks like some kind of drive-through I think.
Blogger frustrates me too, I can't get my photos to enlarge on a click, except the first one in each post. But then, where would we be without it? Certainly not looking at your gorgeous photography.
Great barn shots and the little mini barn...love them. I am just now getting around to commenting on the barns from this week. I have been so busy. My shots have all gone up, but I was to busy to sit at the computer and comment. Very frustrating. Like this post and the shoes from the one before. genie
ReplyDeleteLove the triple silos in the first photograph. Very nice shots. :-)
