Let's start by looking down the fence line at the side of the driveway. The forsythia that has been left to grow naturally was in full blown a few days ago. The wind and rain of the past few hours has blown away many blossoms. Looking a little further we catch a glimpse of the blooming redbud tree. The scene is framed against a soft blue sky.
Peeking over the fence to our right is one of two coy ponds in the yard. The bare branches of the reflected hickory tree seem to be reaching for lost leaves at the bottom of the pond. A little orange coy swims among the branches.
At the other end of the pond the reflections include the blue sky,the purple leaves of the flowering plum tree, and the stack of rock that make up the pond fountain. My little orange friend keeps swimming into view hoping I'll put down the camera and throw in some food pellets.
The spring leaves of the flowering plum rise beautifully to meet the blue sky.
The underside of the dark purple leaves glow vibrantly in the sunlight!
