Look Whoooo's BAACK!

A couple of weeks ago I was out chasing the evening sun to hopefully catch the partial eclipse. I realized later I wasn't high enough in elevation to actual get the right pic; but it didn't matter when I caught a glimpse of this guy. I had slowed my Jeep to a crawl along the rural road I was on because I saw three deer above the road. You never know in what direction they might go. After an almost complete stop I glanced to the stand of pine trees on the opposite side of the road and saw this guy with his back to me. I initially thought he was a hawk and would fly when he realized I was there. I grabbed the camera anyway and I just kept snapping and when he turned I was ecstatic. This is my first owl sighting in the wild.

As a quick note I want to thank everyone who has kept in touch by email wanting to know about my husband after his triple by-pass. He is doing very well. His doctor released him mid-October. His only restriction is the amount he can lift because his sternum is still healing. A warm heartfelt thanks to those who have kept in contact with me. It's good to be able to get back to blogging. Lots of photos need posting and I may change up my blog just a little when it comes to posting. Haven't worked that decision all out yet. I have missed you all.  I'll be around to visit all of you and see some of what I've missed these last months.

Nice to have you back - you've surely been missed and so glad your husband is doing well. The owl shot is gorgeous. I remember the first (and only) time I saw an owl and got photos - it was amazing. He was near a parking area overlooking the bay and stayed for a long long time - lots of photos.

It is great to have you back and with a stunning photo of the owl. I didn't think to contact you via email, I thought you had just had enough. I didn't know about hubby and his big op. So glad that he is recovering.

Welcome back and great to hear that your husband is on the road to recovery. We are now 4 1/2 years post my husband's heart-attack and it has become 2nd nature to our lifestyle - diet restrictions and exercise.

Not only is it awesome to get to see the owl - let alone get a picture of it. Well done.
