He Loves Me....I Love Him

Mostly we are able to journey through life on a fairly even keel; but sometimes, we encounter an unexpected bump in the road. A couple of weeks ago my hubby had a routine stress test done. A few days later his Dr.'s office called saying there was a little irregularity and a heart cath should probably be done. It was scheduled for Friday the 6th and we fully believed it would be a simple procedure and that we would be visiting the Grandchildren the following week as planned. It wasn't long after the procedure was begun that the Dr. came to inform me the problem was more extensive than he thought and my husband would need surgery and would have to stay in the hospital instead of coming home. That following Monday my wonderful hubby underwent heart surgery for a triple bypass. The good news is that the surgery went very well and I was able to bring him home this past Friday. A follow-up appointment with the surgeon on Monday showed he is doing well. We have a long road ahead of us for his full recovery; but this 'bump in the road' will get better with each passing day.

The first day of summer here in the good ole USA is Saturday. I wish you all a wonderful summer filled with sunshine and love. To my readers elsewhere around the world may your world be filled with sunshine and love as well. I'll see all of you soon!

Oh gosh, I'm sorry that you guys are going through this, but happy to hear that his surgery was a success. I hope he has a quick recovery.

I am so sorry to hear about your hubby's surgery --but am glad that he is home and doing better. Bet that trip to see the Grandchildren has to wait a few weeks!!!!

Prayers for your husband--and you.
Hugs,
Betsy

That sure was a big bump in the road. However, it was better to find the problem and fix it rather than have a heart attack. I hope he recovers quickly and you can relax again soon.

Sometimes I think our bodies give us a nudge towards better health. I'm glad things are taken care of and better times are ahead.

Sending magical thoughts to both of you. It's a pretty drastic preventative measure to undergo, but at least it was caught while it could still be preventative.! Thank goodness.

And yes we too know about those bumps in the road (not this exact one but bumps nonetheless) and I know you two will weather this one as you have others. Sending virtual hugs and wishes for a complete and rapid recovery. (Take care of yourself too Carletta!)

Carletta - I have been in your shoes. You go about the day like it was any other, then BAM, the rug gets pulled out from under you and in an instant you are counting your blessings it wasn't worse. I can tell you some 3/4 years later, it saved my husband's life and put the rest of us on a path towards being healthier.

I hope your husband has a speedy recovery and listens to the doctors (my husband hasn't ventured off the prairie of no fries/pizza/hamburger/hotdogs...- which is a first for him)

I too understand the surprises that can come from a "routine" stress test. I ended up with a stint a few years ago but seems it has taken care of the problem. I'm praying your husband will continue doing well and have a very speedy recovery.

Continued prayers for your darling hubby. Sorry to hear this. My hubbies brothers are all know for these operations. Not my hubby. His brothers all smoke . My hubby does not.

Not sure if your hubby does.

If so I still will continue to pray.

I do not judge.

Hugs
Carol Ann
