Friday's Fences: At The Zoo

What could Lucy be looking at as she stands on a bench leaning over one fence to see through another one?
Lily's look is as if to say, 'Grandma are you sure?'

It was a Reindeer!!!

Great story with the kids and their reactions.
I did see reindeer on the Mackenzie Delta. There were about 700 of them in a couple of herds spread out over 1o sq. mi. They just slowly moved to more pasture.

Funny but regal looking animals, aren't they? I saw a great herd of them when crossing Canada from Vancouver to Montreal on the now, I think, extinct Canadian Pacific train. And that sure was one long interesting train journey.
Don't the antlers at some stage fall off and new ones appear??
Kids all sure love zoos.
Cheers

Weather report: 9.00am Friday 7th.
Spring sure has sprung here, but some rain now would be good.

The girls are the perfect ages to enjoy a zoo trip -- I still think 'are you sure?' about reindeer! They don't quite live up to the Santa picture book ;>)
