A few weeks ago Hubby and I were trimming a bush beside our front door when I noticed a Praying Mantis. I made a note of where he was so I could get my camera when we were finished. A little later I couldn't find him and was disappointed more than I could say.This week we were putting down new mulch and there he was in a small pine beside the fron porch. This time we stopped and Hubby went for my camera. He's been hanging around for a few days now so I think he's taken up residence which is more than fine with me.

My, what big eyes you have, ah.. ms. mantis. They are so much fun to watch, I got bit by one once and only once.. that hurts to much to let it happen twice. wonderfully captured!

I'm glad he decided to take up residence in your yard, they do tend to remain in an area. She is a beauty and not at all camera shy. The Praying Mantis is one of my favorite insects.

Jeepers creepers, look at those eyes! These are terrific shots, Carletta. I don't think I saw a mantis all summer. Maybe they got tired of having their picture taken so often last summer... lol :)
