Scavenger Hunt Sunday

CAMERA PHONE
Taking a picture of forsythia blooms now showing on my photoblog. If you'd care to see click on the link in my sidebar.

CAMERA
This is my Mom's Brownie Camera that recorded all of my childhood memories.

SHOES
I know, I know, many people think they're ugly. I totally agree that they can't compare with the red soled Christian Louboutins or trendy Manolo Blahnik stilettos but hey; I'm old, I have terrible knees and they are the most comfortable shoe I've worn in a long time and this teal blue goes from spring to summer!
CHAIR
This little primitive wooden chair was my Grandma's. I don't recall her letting us sit in it. She didn't want it to get broken. It sat beside her bed and held her flashlight within easy reach in case she needed to get up in the middle of the night. When she broke her hip she needed to be moved to a nursing home and I asked if I could have the chair. She happily passed it on to me.
The original seat is gone having long ago been replaced with a scrap of wood. One arm is only half the size of the other. It retains much of its original red paint. Grandma cherished it and now so do I.
IMPERFECTION
"If you look closely at a tree you'll notice its knots and dead branches, just like our bodies. What we learn is that beauty and imperfection go together wonderfully."
Matthew Fox
HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE!

I love that vintage camera. :)

I would wear Crocs if only they're made a bit narrower. They're too wide for my feet. :)

Oh I just love that you have your Grandma's chair now, what a great treasure. I also think it's really cool that you have the camera your mom used to take your pictures. And yes I agree that while the crocs are ugly, they make the best houseshoes!

My fave is your grandmother's chair...and also the spirit in which you now have it. I miss my grandmother very much and the few things I have of hers are very dear to me too.

A wonderful post, Carletta!

I want to get a pr. of Crocs. I've never had any but my sister wears them and loves them! We have tile floors so I'm sure they would be food for these old feet and legs of mine!

Also that little chair is similar to one I have. My cousin (she's 90) gave it to me to keep it in the family. Her dad made it for her when she was a little girl. It's in my attic but now I'm inspired to display it!

...and the Brownie camera looks like my first one when I was just a kid!

Have a good day!!

I love that camera shot. My little nephew won't go anywhere without his crocs. That chair must be so special to you - I like the processing you did on that image.

Love that chair, and the brownie camera; my Mum had one like that, and used it many times when we were young. Then when I was in my teens, I was allowed to use it- I still remember the excitement and the sense of privilege!
And the knotted tree, well imperfection can look beautiful, can't it?

I almost used a tree for my "imperfection", as well. :) Love all of these! And, that little chair is darling.
