Pussy WillowsLet's just call this Fun Friday! Oh have I got some fun for you! Are you thinking I've taken up painting? I guess I have. However it was not with a regular paintbrush and palette. Tuesday Raven's post was about an online site that you could access and make your own Jackson Pollock painting. Are you asking who is Jackson Pollock? Paul Jackson Pollock (1912 – 1956) was an influential American painter and a major force in the abstract expressionist movement.
Raven said in her post that it was 'mindlessly easy' to make these imitation pieces. She did not say it was addicting. No, she left out that very important piece of information. She did say that at times it was frustrating in that you don't have a lot of control of how it comes out. She is right when it comes to that.
Pollock's paintings would have been layer upon layer of paint. He threw paint, he dripped paint, he used sticks drug through paint and so on. My first visit to the site I wanted to see if I could learn how to control a little of what I did and it wasn't easy. The Pussy Willows painting was pure serendipity. I don't believe I could do it again if I tried. The next 'painting' isn't a Pollock look-a-like but me practicing using my wrists to turn my mouse. It wasn't until I finished that I named it.

Okay, this was not for me! Way too frustrating! I don't like a world that runs on whimsy and doesn't come with instructions. I didn't even know how to stop and start the thing. It was just on and painting and how the heck did you save your anyway?

Great art! When I get back home I will look at this a then take a jaunt up to Quilly's house and teach her how to do this. LOL

Oh, I love this! I will have to try it tomorrow. I saw where you posted on Sky Watch but was not sure it was you although I thought I recognized some of your photographs, countryside, etc.

I just don't have the time but it does look like you had fun. I think I would have called the second picture exploding mikes but we see what we see. That's the way art is.
