A few days ago it was a beautiful spring day and I took the Jeep out for a ride. I had a barbecue lunch across from this old building. At one time it was used as a warehouse; but has been restored and turned into an apartment building with these red doors that lead to nowhere. Originally I thought I would use this partial shot of the building for a Sepia Scenes post but I wasn't happy with it. I had taken the shot in the bright sun and it seemed washed out. So, I played around with my software and this is the result - a much brighter Ruby Tuesday post!

"doors to nowhere"...sounds like a song title to me...beautiful shot...you asked about the white squirrels on my blog...I don't think they're albino...just white...we have families of them in our backyard....you can see a couple of them at this link (they're so hard to get shots of) http://thoughtfullyblendedhearts.blogspot.com/2009/03/i-finally-got-shot-of-our-resident.html
definitely like what you've done with the picture! good job.
I'm intrigued by the nowhere doors.
If I lived there, I'd have to build a small balcony there. Nothing big, just like the Spanish ones, with a place for a chair and a woman with a fan.
I like you pic. I also like than buildings are being recycled, and not left empty.

Oh, I love it; it's great! How illustrational.
I love the pictures and but wonder where the door leads? Good job Carletta
Hope the door is well locked from inside. Very nice photoenhancement and nice add to RT. Happy ruby tuesday and the rest of the week!
You've done a reat job here.
Red doors to nowhere! you did a good job with the picture.
The 'doors to nowhere' probably opened up to reveal a hoist to lift things to be manufactured on the floors...It is a shame that the developer didn't build a deck at the door for the lucky renter of that unit...
The building itself loos great, and I would imagine that the newly refinished wide plank flooring is beautiful! Character, class and style in the old building...
The photo turned out well, Carletta! I think playing with photos is tons of fun...when I have time. ;-)
wow I thought it was a painting at first, nice editing!
I sing Ruby Tuesday every time I pass by the restaurant!
I really like the way your photo turned out - well done.
Great photo with excellent results. I love photos of doors, windows, arches.
Lovely.
Love the processing Carletta. Isn't it neat to play around with photos. Well done!
Interestingly modified. It looks kinda like something that could be drawn using crayon.
Love what you did to the original picture!
I'm sure that balcony door leads out to where a beautiful scenery across that building :)
Your version looks like a chalk and crayon drawing. Very creative!
I love the result ! it looks like a painting !
Your treatment almost makes it look wrapped in plastic. Very creative.
How odd to have doors to nowhere, and at such a height too.
Cool! I see things like these doors and think what fun that would have been when I was a kid... daring my brother to try to fly like superman! :D
Great picture of an intriguing red door!
Hi there!
I love the finished product!
Much Love,
The results look great! Doors to nowhere....I bet there are a lot more of those then we ever notice.
Your shot is beautiful. I just love close ups of architectural detail. I like both - the original and the creative result you've come up with. And that red door - wow! What a lovely scene to gaze at while you eat lunch...
how wonderful! I love this painted look.
Very artsy, love the color contrasts along with the red and the setting as well!
What a funny thing... the door that leads nowhere... I wonder why it is there... was the building ... on a diff level before?
Intrigued!
Oh I LIKE that effect! This was a great picture for it! I think on my program it's called paintbrush... it really does look like it was hand painted!
Carletta-This is a really interesting red post! I love what you did with this picture!

I love the way that you edited the picture it really gave it character. Doors to nowhere I have seen this before. I like to think they work as a portal to a quiet place like a deserted beach in guam. Great post Carletta.

You played wonderfully with your software, very creative. The house look like made in paper. So funny.
Very original.
Door to Nowhere sounds like a book title or at least a short story.
Great picture.
I like either version...I am kind of partial to those doors that lead to nowhere. I can't help but think if it were me, I would have to keep something sitting in front of them on the inside or I might forget and step out one of them.
Beautiful! It looks like it could be a painting. Love the doors hanging up there in space.
It looks like a painting! Very nice work!
Wonderful modification to the original ;--)
