My Creative Side/Ruby Tuesday

It's time for Ruby Tuesday and time to post a photo with a little red or a lot of red.

A few days ago it was a beautiful spring day and I took the Jeep out for a ride. I had a barbecue lunch across from this old building. At one time it was used as a warehouse; but has been restored and turned into an apartment building with these red doors that lead to nowhere. Originally I thought I would use this partial shot of the building for a Sepia Scenes post but I wasn't happy with it. I had taken the shot in the bright sun and it seemed washed out. So, I played around with my software and this is the result - a much brighter Ruby Tuesday post!

"doors to nowhere"...sounds like a song title to me...beautiful shot...you asked about the white squirrels on my blog...I don't think they're albino...just white...we have families of them in our backyard....you can see a couple of them at this link (they're so hard to get shots of) http://thoughtfullyblendedhearts.blogspot.com/2009/03/i-finally-got-shot-of-our-resident.html

I'm intrigued by the nowhere doors.
If I lived there, I'd have to build a small balcony there. Nothing big, just like the Spanish ones, with a place for a chair and a woman with a fan.
I like you pic. I also like than buildings are being recycled, and not left empty.

Red doors to nowhere! you did a good job with the picture.

The 'doors to nowhere' probably opened up to reveal a hoist to lift things to be manufactured on the floors...It is a shame that the developer didn't build a deck at the door for the lucky renter of that unit...

The building itself loos great, and I would imagine that the newly refinished wide plank flooring is beautiful! Character, class and style in the old building...

Interestingly modified. It looks kinda like something that could be drawn using crayon.

Your treatment almost makes it look wrapped in plastic. Very creative.

How odd to have doors to nowhere, and at such a height too.

Cool! I see things like these doors and think what fun that would have been when I was a kid... daring my brother to try to fly like superman! :D

Your shot is beautiful. I just love close ups of architectural detail. I like both - the original and the creative result you've come up with. And that red door - wow! What a lovely scene to gaze at while you eat lunch...

Oh I LIKE that effect! This was a great picture for it! I think on my program it's called paintbrush... it really does look like it was hand painted!

I love the way that you edited the picture it really gave it character. Doors to nowhere I have seen this before. I like to think they work as a portal to a quiet place like a deserted beach in guam. Great post Carletta.

Door to Nowhere sounds like a book title or at least a short story.
Great picture.

I like either version...I am kind of partial to those doors that lead to nowhere. I can't help but think if it were me, I would have to keep something sitting in front of them on the inside or I might forget and step out one of them.
