"You'd be surprised how many ways
I change on different colored days."
Dr. Seuss (1904 - 1991) was the author of My Many Colored Days. A picture book about color, feelings and moods. In the book each day is described in terms of a particular color, which in turn is associated with specific emotions. Do you think Monday is a happy pink day or a quiet green day or just plain old blue?
Oh my it's neither I tell you.
Listen closely to what I have to say.
It's really and truly
Mellow Yellow Monday!

HBD Dr Seuss. Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat...so many classics. I think Monday is any color that suits your needs. Some days blue, somedays green, somedays yellow. I just don't think it's an ever changing color as is our being :)
I received my last Dr. Suess book at the age of 37 when I graduated from college. It was (I know you know), Oh The Places You Can Go.
This is National Reading Week and I am missing all the activities we'd be doing if I had a classroom! One year my students made their very own, "The Paper Bag Princess," big book. Written by Robert Munch and illustrated by Ms. Amsden's 5th grade class.
I kept it for years and then it got destroyed in a classroom flood. That was the most awesome book.
I need to go back to teacing.
This is one beautiful lighted candle, I love it since I love to collect candles.
Green, Eggs, and Ham was my favorite. What a great post. =) Hope you have a great Mellow Yellow Monday.
DR. Seuss not only colors ham and eggs but days as well.
His birthday is a great day to celebrate.
Yes, Carletta, it truly is Mellow Yellow Day... I love your warm burning candle! :)
Before I started blogging on Blogger, I had never heard of Dr. Seuss! Now I know he has written so many classics!
I love the picture that goes with it!
I would of never known that, thanks for sharing this day, love the books when the kids were little.
Yes thanks to Drowsey Monkey Monday indeed has become yellow. That is a pretty candle in the picture.
Thanks for reminding us that today is Dr. Seuss' birthday. I think my children knew every word of every Dr. Seuss book we owned before they started school.
I didn't know it was his birthday! I should have his books memorized but alas, I don't. Great post...
I have something for you at my blog.
great tribute to a great author
I finally quit vibrating enough to catch up on my blog comments. I am once again reading Dr. Suess to my grandkids. Thanks for stopping by today. Pappy
Hi!
I love Dr. Seuss books even now. The kids at school today had Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast. They were looking at the eggs kind of funny, but they did eat them! Thanks for stopping by my place. Have a great evening!

I love this and I love Dr. Suess! I don't think any other children's author equals his humor and genius. Lovely mellow yellow post!

I noticed today that even Google was displaying a tribute to the good Doctor....
I hope this finds you well

Cute post and nice tribute to the Dr. I can remember reading those books to my daughter many years ago.
Great tribute!
Well I'm just under the wire to wish you a happy mellow yellow Monday so I'll ad wishes for a perfect purple (hope you like purple) Tuesday (apologies Mary/the teach), but...
I've never read this particular Dr. Seuss. I'll have to get hold of a copy.
I adore Dr. Seuss!!
His best quote ever was - "be who you want to be - those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"
wonderful post!!
That looks like a candle Seuss would PROUD of!
Very beautiful image of the lighted candle, Carletta. Excellent Mellow Yellow post. :-)
I haven't read that Dr. Seuss book. Maybe I'll have to check that out, it sounds like a good one.
Oh ... how did I miss this??? Methinks I celebrated his birthday last year but too many things are dropping through the cracks currently. I love Dr. Seuss and Bill Peet too! I played Monday but am just getting around to visit today.
Hugs and blessings,
