The eight mourning doves must have known the change was coming as they congregated in the massive oak tree under partly pastel colored skies.
The white tops of some clouds gave the impression of vanilla ice cream cones.
The dark clouds began to swirl trying to swallow all the blue and white that remained. The 'angel' couldn't hold back the darkness.
A shimmer of light still beckoned briefly before the rain and hail and thunder came storming down.

Beautiful storm sequence and I love how you caught the birds congregating in the tree.
I really enjoyed the progression of these storm-watching photos. The patterns of the branches and clouds is dramatic.
Carletta: What a neat view of the doves in the tree. I thought the shape told me that before reading. Maybe they are headed North.
