Sepia Scenes: An Old Trestle

Here's to the trains I missed
The loves I lost
The bridges I burned
The rivers I never crossed
Here's to the call I didn't hear
The signs I didn't heed
The roads I couldn't take
The maps that I just wouldn't read
It's a big old world but I've found my way
And the hell and the hurt lead me straight to it
Here's to the trains I missed

I just love old train trestles. Reminds me of home in my youth. Lived near one. We called them viadocks.

Love that picture, Carletta. And I like to check out trestles. We have one near here. I'll have to go snap a picture of it.
And us country people call them "trussels".

That poem speaks to me of both whimsy and independence -- a couple of traits I just might know something about.

You picture is lovely and it suits the poem well -- of course you knew that, that's why they're here together!
