Ruby Tuesday: Look What's In The Kitchen

It's time to post that photo with a little bit of red or a lot of red. Today I have a LOT of red. I took the following photos at Lehman's Store in Kidron, Ohio. The store was first started to serve local Amish and others without electricity. Lehman’s vision was to preserve the past for future generations.
Welcome to a 50's style kitchen. When I saw this I took pictures for my daughter who loves the fifties style of furniture. This set is certainly bright don't you think. The sliver of red you see beneath the red clock is a microwave oven - not very 50's.
Many old fashioned furnishings can be found in the store. There is a large selection of Country Primitive gifts, furniture, lighting, candles and other home decor. This family owned and operated business specializes in antique-styled appliances and retro home furnishings, non-electric kitchenware, old-time toys, hand tools, oil lamps, collectible cook books and much more.

To see more red postings be sure to click on the Ruby Red Slippers. There's no place like home to view all kinds of red entries from around the world.
Have a bright day!

Whoa! That's one bright kitchen. I can't imagine looking at the Coca-cola sign on my kitchen table every day. But it's a fun Ruby Tuesday post.

Now that would be fun for a while but I wonder how long I could live with it :0)
Happy Ruby to you!

I 'm glad I do not have a red refrigerator but I liked the picture.

Now, I could handle that kitchen...I like red.

Bright and cheerful for sure! I like red...but not for appliances. ;-) But I'm way older than your daughter. LOL

I certainly like red. Never seen a red refrigerator before.
It was just so nice.
Think I'd like to visit the shop. I like shops with individuality.
The chain stores are just too dull and overwhelming with thousand items of the same product.

This is a real treat to see this display from the past. The red is lovely. Happy Ruby Tuesday!

Appliances are not styled these days. The old refrigerator, especially, has a wonderful 1950s feel to it, and the red makes it stand out more. A simpler time is evoked here, and a display window as nice as this, invites us in to shop. Excellent!

Wow! This scene reminds me of the video game "The Sims," when I used to play it, I love every room to be monochrome, and I always choose the red scheme. I love that red fridge in your photo!

My Ruby Tuesday entries are posted here and here. Happy Tuesday!

The old Coke box. Now that is red. Should put those in the Fire Station. Pappy

Very bright, kitchen! I wouldn't want to look at the Coca-Cola logo all the time, but to each her own.

It looks like a fun place to shop and poke around ;-)

Happy Ruby Tuesday, Carletta!

I like the fridge! SO u're a fan of Coca Cola? :)

Interesting! You'd have to like red staring at you first thing in the morning when you went to the fridge to get the juice! Yikes!

Fun to photograph, though!

I would love this kitchen! I would paint my wall bright yellow have a kitchen that knew how to say good morning!

Ohhhhhh my GOSH! Does it come in other colors? WOW! I'd like ... turquoise! Or blue! SKY blue - like my ceiling! YEA! Wow!... I am so impressed! (and at first - before I read, I thought that was YOUR kitchen!) I was having a little bit of kitchen envy - but just a little - cuz I LOVE mine! But WOW! Those are SOME appliances!

Wow, a nice red kitchen. That would be pretty in yellow, too.

Snazzy...I like it. Funny thing...I have an old brown fridge almost exactly like that one, except mine isn't all sparkly and shiny like that one, mine runs but it sounds like there's a grumbling monster inside the fridge ;)

Wow! That is one kitchen I want to have! I love the red refrigerator!

I LOVE the style of that kitchen and the vibrant red fridge would be such a nice change to my boring white one! Of course I then would need to redecorate the whole place,... new drapes, table cloth, seat covers, oven gloves, new paint on the walls, hmmm? On second thoughts? I'll keep my boring white one! But I love your picture!

Robin said...

That is one seriously vintage kitchen - I love it.

soulbrush said...

now you're talking my language. i would have loved one of these, was a fifties child, but we had only boring whites.

WOW! This was PERFECT for Ruby Tuesday!

That is what I call red. You would have to wear sunglasses to work in there. :)

Yeah, I made it home and NO it's not going to my head. :) I should have stayed longer since it snowing here and we're suppose to get some more this afternoon and tonight. :)

Mary said...

This is very cheerful! It would certainly wake you up in the morning. I like the appliances but would skip the Coke stuff.

Pia K said...

Wow, that kitchen and the fridge is gorgeous!! I'd love to have a red fridge, although I wouldn't mind a pink one in this 50ies style either. They look so soft and cuddly somehow and I really think naming them is appropriate. Mine would probably be called Doris:)

Gattina said...

My kitchen is the other way around, walls in red and furniture and appliances in white with red, lol ! But a red microwave from the 50th ??? that must be a new antique !

Tom said...

Jane will love this when I show her..... more for the colour than the age.... she a 1966 model unlike a 50's like me.. ;o)

Great Ruby Tuesday! Even with the updates the kitchen sort of gives me the shivers remembering those times. To tell you the truth I can't even watch "Mad Men" because it is so true to the way it was. I'm sure my mother and grandmother couldn't understand my infatuation with '40s style furniture.

When leaving Lowe's the other day they had one of those new washer and dryer things on the pedestal that is a bright red. I wondered how long I could live with something that bright.

Oh yes...we have icing conditions and will not be able to get out until tomorrow. Like Melli, I'm going to snuggle down and do some "me" stuff. I'm totally envious of your snow. :)

Hi Carletta! I'm baaaack! I just saw your comment on my yesterday's post. I do NOT have a macro lens... I just have a little point and shoot camera -- an Olympus Stylus 1010 -- but it does have some nifty features - and one of them is a macro and a SUPER macro setting. I would dearly LOVE to have a big fancy SLR... mayber in my next life... *sigh*... but I do LOVE this camera because it fits sO easily in a pocket or a purse!

Jan said...

Groovy, Carletta. Very fifties groovy.

juliana said...

i'm not sure i would like to have a kitchen like that but it still looks cool (not the huge coca-cola logos, though)

I love the Coke decor. If I could fit red in my house I would go for this kind of kitchen. I visited someone with a friend once and his garage had all of the Coke decor and a beautiful black and white tiled floor. That was some garage.

Fun... and very red! Too bold for me, I'm afraid. If I could afford new kitchen stuff, I'd probably go for stainless or brown. But it's fun to look at and the old 50s chairs bring back memories somehow.

Hi!
That's a beautiful kitchen!! Reminds me of my childhood. Only mom's was the pink and greens of the 50's. Thanks for stopping by my place. Have a great day!!
