Camera Critters: A Barn Mural

On a recent trip to Sugarcreek, Ohio where most of last week's posts were from I stopped by a Lehman's store in Kidron, Ohio. The store stocks old fashioned merchandise. You can find oil lamps, cast iron cookware, tin toys, and wood-burning cook stoves among many other items that are shipped worldwide. The store is three pre-Civil War era buildings put together. One side of the store was painted to look like a barn. Here are some closeups of the animal murals.

Hi, my name is Wilbur.

And for all of you who need to see a real critter here is a little bird on a wire. I was at my Moms when it landed on a utility wire just above my head. I thought he would fly before I aimed my camera and was surprised he didn't. However I was only able to get this silhouette. Those little claws hardly look big enough to grasp that wire.

To see more Camera Critter's click the badge at the top of my post. Misty would love you to join us. You never know what you'll see!

Wow! I need a barn. Wait. I can't paint. Well, not like that anyway.
Wish I could paint pretty pictures like those!
Great shot of the bird on a wire, Carletta.
Thanks for sharing those!!

Love those murals...they are wonderful. Sometimes I wouldn't mind doing some big scene on an inside wall...

THAT is a FAT little bird! And I just LOVE Wilbur! What great barn art! I drive around through all these back roads and see all these beautiful old barns around here - and I keep PICTURING murals on them -- but we only have ONE that I know of in the entire county... and I've already featured it quite awhile back... Maybe I need to build a barn!

OH my gosh! I've heard of Lehman's but have never known anyone who has actually been there. OK, I admit it. I'm jealous. ;-)

Fabulous murals and of course the bird on a wire is just so cute.

Well done ... that's a fun barn. Judging from the opening on your blog, up top, you must be familiar with Shel Silverstein's "Where the Sidewalk Ends." You're opening quote reminds me of that.

There should be more Murals in Life. Nice Post.

The Talk to the Animals song came on when I clicked over to your page and it brought my daughter, Sarah, running over. She loves animals.

Somebody worked hard on this. At least this barn won't need mucking out.

Good idea : if you don't have farm animals, paint them :-) Cute little bird on a wire. Your Amish photos are interesting : their barns look newer than the average flemish farm, that they work with horses instead of engines is something I really value high. (P.S. I've added your link in my list of meme mates).
