Sky Watch: Early Evening Moon

Traveling down the interstate after visiting my Mom on Monday I looked out the window to my left and saw a huge Autumn moon rising in the last light of the day. After exiting the interstate I took the first ridge I came to to try and find a high spot to take a photo before night descended.
About five minutes later grasses on a high embankment by the roadway framed the moon as darkness beckoned closer.
Coming to the end of the ridge there was time for one last shot over the mountains in the distance and time to head on home.

Full moon is a challenging subject. I just spent three nights working on that very thing. But it was always in full darkness... didn't get a chance to catch the moonrise.

Maybe next month I'll get something like this!

Delicate, the two top ones; love the wispy grass in the second. On the bottom one, my attention is drawn to some item in the center bottom: what is that? I do like the moon with the criss-crossing sky in that one.

Hi Carletta, you have found you a pretty moon. I always do like those moon pictures. The camera i have now doesn't do justice to the moon.
Today I have a bear sitting on a fan if you have time.

As gray as your sky is, the tint of color, along with the moon, make your shots absolutely wonderful! So glad you took the time to shoot those shots, and to share them!

Thanks for stopping by to see my moons too - you did better than I did, by far. But I appreciate your kind comments.
