God's Been Painting My World
A New Meme: Sepia Scenes

Today is the beginning of a new meme hosted by Mary/The Teach at Work of the Poet. We are posting images with the look of old photos. The sepia tone adds a sense of class and timelessness. My photo today is of an old furniture warehouse here in Parkersburg long ago gone out of business. Though abandoned and crumbling it still stands by the well used railroad track as a reminder of days gone by. These past few days color has been in abundance wherever I look. Soon it will all be that brown sepia color that sets in before winter. Along with my sepia image today I'm also sharing the color in my little corner of the world.
On a Sunday drive down a sun-dappled roadway I could see God's handiwork on the leaves of the trees and the mass of fallen ones that lined the road.

Closer to home one lone tree on the sloping countryside burst forth in golden color underneath the grey skies overhead.

Standing looking off my deck God whispered that I really didn't need to leave home at all. He had brought his handiwork to my own back yard.

Wherever you are today take time to enjoy your view!

I'm glad to see you got your problem fixed. Operator trouble? :)
I like the Sepia photo. It's always amazing how B&W and sepia change the atmosphere of a picture. I like the color photos as well but not as good as the sepia. Take care!!!

Yeah! I can post a comment! I love your pictures...was sort of tempted to email you one or two I took today. You would think we were standing in the same spot taking pictures. I don't think our trees are quite as beautiful as yours--not as many of them anyway. I am dreading to see it end.

p.s.--I love the sepia photo also!

Four beauties! Make that five!

Love the sepia effect on the first photo ... reminds me of old buildings I've seen in Boston. The color in your back yard is exquisite.

Carletta,

I am a sucker for the sepia toned images or regular b&w images for that matter.

I also like the beautiful fall scenery that you posted. I am thankful each day that I am retired and can go out with the camera and be in the great outdoors at this wonderful time of year.

Cool, I forgot, thanks for the reminder and God has a great eye for color, so much more texture and life than oil or acrylic :)

Nice work on the sepia picture :)
Works very well with that tone.
Happy Weekend Carletta!

That's a great photo, and it's perfect in sepia.

It seems we have a lot in common. We're both at that autumn stage, and I grew up in Charleston. My heart never really left the West Virginia hills.

Thanks for a glimpse of home.

Those are all beautiful shots. If I wasn't already doing so many memes I'd be tempted by the sepia one.

It's strange you live so far away on another continent and still fall pictures look the same as here !
I have to think about this Sepia project, usually I prefer it colorful, lol !

You have very beautiful scenes in your world!

All beautiful... that first photo really does look like something from the past. I love your foliage photos, especially the middle one - though they are all beautiful. I will be glad when the election is over and I can turn back into a real person (or as close as I come).

I love that sepia picture, nice work!
But those fall colours are lovely too, where you live! I went out yesterday to try and snap some but they didn't turn out half as good as yours!

The sepia format separates your photo by years although they were perhaps taken the same day. The sepia format is great for setting old buildings and things back in time. Your old building reminds me of an old building nearby that I want to take also. Have a great day!

Sepia really does lend an element of dignity to buildings that time has passed by. Nice choice.

Lovely fall colors on the other ones too.

Hey Carletta, thanks for sending Larry my way... so thoughtful of you! They are lens flare, caused by internal light reflection.

No SWF this week from you?

Have a great day!

Beautiful photos - you live in a gorgeous area.
The sepia tones are wonderfully nostalgic on the warehouse.
I so agree with your words under the last photo...
