(Some folks were wondering about the cranes being in the same place so long. I believe they are there for the purpose of training crane operators. I just haven't been able to confirm it. They are in the middle of nowhere!)

Wonderful skies, Carletta.
Happy Sky Watch and nice weekend!
beautiful!!
have a nice weekend!!
Why did cranes stay there so long?
Special shots.
Oh, Carletta, I was just today thinking it has been a while since we have had clouds like this and I get lonesome to see them...thanks for sharing. They are so beautiful!
nice sky
My SWF : The gateway to Heaven Thanks
Love those - a nice combo of natural and man-made. Happy SWF!
Carletta: What a woderful Sky, I love the big crane in the shot.
That is quite strange: why would there be cranes on the one property for more than 30 years? What could they possibly be doing? I do like the cloud formation and the long distance/short distance shots.
You live in beautiful countryside! Lovely photos for your Sky Watch. Is there some sort of mining operation going on over there? Can't imagine why cranes would be there for so long.
Cranes are a great sw motive, but have they really been there over 30years??
In regards to the comments about why they are on the same property for so long - I believe they are used to train crane operators but I haven't been able to verify that for sure. They are in the middle of nowhere so I'm pretty sure that's what they are used for.
Wow... great shot but how come they are there for such a long time!!??
Mountain Retreat
If you sit up in that crane, you can nearly touch the clouds.
Will we find you taking picture from up there next week???
Petunia's SWF
I wonder why the cranes hve been there for so long. Are they stored there?
this is a very neat photo! the crane adds such a fun touch! the sky looks beautiful behind it as well HAPPY SWF (:
Beautiful sky photos!
Nice SWF pictures. I like the big tall crank in it.
into blogging because "everybody else was doing it" and I didn't want to be left out.
Well as long as you are visiting my blog there is at least one more reason.
Nice to visit you
Makes you really wonder what the crane is going to be doing up in that sky all by itself!
Have a wonderful weekend of beautiful skies!
My Sky Watch Photos are posted Here and Here
wonderful! beautiful sky!
I love the cloud layout in the top shot, it's almost like their marching into battle. Nice shot! Thanks for stopping by Photonic Harmony and thanks for sharing!
beautiful sky!
Beautiful skies... That crane is HUGE! What does it do? Going to put my skywatch up in a couple of minutes. Too many pictures as always.
Great Sky Watch-photos!
This is a 'country' crane. They usually have a set territory. 'City' cranes are known for their wandering ways.
Great post.
Thanks for the visit
Beautiful skies! That crane that's always there makes me wonder -- maybe they're just providing a home for wayward cranes?
What have the cranes been doing for 30 years??
Pretty clouds!
Great blue sky. liked it a lot.
Beautiful skies!
To every crane there is a purpose, turn, turn turn... :)
Beautiful skies! And it would be interesting to know if the cranes were for training or what.
I never thought about a crane farm for training purposes, but it gives you a chance for these great unusual photos.
Interesting post and I couldn't help but laugh at the music. Maybe it Is a training place like you said.
Beautiful and reminded me of the show recently about the guys doing this for a living...one scary dangerous job!
I've missed everyone! Yes, at the jail, but I'll get back to visiting soon :)
Beautiful Sky..Happy Sky Watch Friday from Michelle
Rambling Woods
Maybe someone parked it there 30 years ago after a "rough night" and forgot where they left it. :)
love the pics. vibrant colors. happy 08.08.08 day to you carletta.
I love these fluffy clouds, here at the english coast where I am right now for one week holidays we have them nearly every day !

Beautiful. My favourite kind of clouds.
My SW
Very pretty sky you have nice ....Happy SWF!
Wonderful sky...I think I should join this meme :)
Happy Friday!!
Crane School. I knew there had to be one somewhere. You wouldn't want to train on the job in those monsters. Great shot. Pappy
Very pretty sky! That is very interesting about the crane.
It makes sense to have them for training purposes but I can also see where it would raise some questions.
I have been dealing with rheumatoid arthritis in my hands. The chemotherapy drug doesn't stop the pain so my typing is limited.
Beautiful clouds Carletta..
I've been playing catch up here as well today.. loved the cover bridge pictures, and the tractor pull.
How interesting! I guess they do have to be trained somewhere...and the best place is probably out away from congestion. Love those clouds! Great SWF post!
Indeed, a crane standing for years on the same place doesn't look very usefull. Nice photos and have enjoyed in the meanwhile your posts during the week. Have a nice weekend!
Dirkjogt, Belgium
i had a view of one of these monsters for over half a year but now, as the building is put up, it has been removed.
pretty sky!
That is something different to view on a regular basis...
these are so beautiful....
Check out the night sky of mumbai here
Bungee jumping, anyone?
Yeah, crane school sounds like a likely explanation. They have to train somewhere, right?
Great sky watch :)
Beautiful skies for SWF, Carletta! Interesting post, too.
Fantatic capture!
Technologie and nature, a great union!!
Have a happy weekend!
Well! 30 years does seem a bit excessive for a construction job! I would think by NOW you would be able to see the top of the building! Surely your assumption MUST be right! But even THAT amazes me as if it's in the middle of NOWHERE, why hasn't SOMEwhere COME to it by now?
Delightful, Carletta!
Beautiful!!!
Great pictures.
The crane sticking out of the trees makes for a very interesting photo. Great SWF photo. Have a great weekend.
Cheers
pretty skies & funny, the second crane I saw in todays skywatch! what are the odds? I like it.
Beautiful skies. Happy Sky Watch Friday.
Your guess maybe right, Carletta... who knows? :)
I think the last picture with the crane is really goos! Happy sky watching and week end!
