Today's Flowers

"Pretty Pink Bonnets Dripping in Raindrops"
The Today's Flowers blog is in the words of Luiz Santilli,Jr. "A Virtual Flower Shop." Luiz is the host of this new weekly meme. He graciously invited me to participate. The photo I have chosen to share today was taken at my son's home in Leesburg, Virginia right after a rainstorm. I don't know the name of the wild rose. Maybe someone will share that with me. I just thought they looked liked little pink bonnets hanging there.

You can learn all about Luiz's new adventure by clicking on the Today's Flowers icon at the beginning of my post. Come join in the fun.

They do indeed look like little pink bonnets on laundry day! Waiting for the wee folk to take them off of the line and wear to their tea parties!

Pretty! Looks like a really fun project. I've been doing Farm Flower Friday on my sidebar but I don't always remember to update it ;)
Like your reflection post too, I gotta grap my camera so I can play too.

These are actually poppies. I had planted some of them this spring and the insects loved them.

Especially the mosquitoes and honey bees. If they are something other than poppies I would also like to know as they are dead ringers for the poppies I had earlier this year.

Well, I went over and joined Luiz Santilli Junior's flowers group and planted some flowers and they are already in bloom at my new blog, Thunder Maker.

It looks like I am going to have to try and catch up with everyone. So many blogs to stop at and make comments.

I'm am far from being a rose expert, but I have some of these.
Can't remember the name right now, but they are like on a China rose stock. They can be purchases at The Antique Rose Emporium. They have so many great Antique Roses.
Here is a link to their site.

I bought mine locally at a nursery and they are almost disease free and bloom like mad until it gets so hot.

Love love love the old glass in the Civil War mansion. I, too love the way old glass has waves in it from age.
