This Week In My Yard

The deer have been visiting almost on a daily basis this week.
Our Resident Buck Trotting Through
A few weeks ago back in June Willard left me a comment that hopefully my deer would keep coming back and bring her fawn to see me. He was right. Actually this week is the first time we have seen them. There are two different ones. This is the older one with Mama.
It is comfortable walking around and eating by itself and will run the length of the adjoining field to catch up with Mama.
This is the younger fawn that showed up this week. You can see it still wants to be fairly close to Mama.
This is a little better shot. This one didn't go very far from Mama at any time it was in my yard.

I was standing in my sunroom taking all these over the course of the week through the window which contributes to the non clarity of the photos. You'll have to excuse the smudge on the window in this one. Actually a Morning Dove flew into it. (It was fine and flew away and the windows did get washed today.)

How tender and endearing these photos are. It must be a joy to know they feel so safe. I'm glad you have a tall fence to protect your garden. :) I can not belive you apologized for a smudge on a window, and one a morning dove made on top of that! Your making me giggle.

That is such a peaceful and endearing scenery!! I love that last picture best, and I love the sunlight in it as well. That warm glow turns this picture into a poem!

Peaceful music. Peaceful scenery. When I lived in Montana the deer came to my yard each evening before sundown. I would sit at the dining room table and watch them play in the field by the barn. They were drawn to the pond for their nightly sip before bed.

Wonderful close-ups! Absolutely precious to see.

The deer haven't been in my yard this year. I don't think we planted the right flowers this time :)

I joined the meme this week on your recommendation. Thanks!

What beautiful photos! I so wish deer would visit me. Actually at the moment I wish anybody would visit me. Since the closing of the Dead Tree Cafe, my back yard has been very quiet except for an occasional blue jay and a new stray cat.

Beautiful, beautiful photos Carletta. If you were always busy keeping windows absolutely spot free we wouldn't get to see so many superb photos :) What a delight having those adorable fawns running through your yard - not that many people can claim that.

W.O.W.!!! I am so jealous! I want the deer to come right up in my yard too! Actually, I've had people tell me they drive by and see the 10-point buck standing in my front yard... but that is bright and early in the morning and I'm still snoozing. *Sigh* I guess I'll have to be a morning person if I want to be a photographer. hehe

These are absolutely fantastic photos, my friend. Thanks for sharing such a neat experience with us.

Oh wow! So amazing! I was out walking with mummy last year when we came across a deer up the lane. Even I managed to be quiet for a few minutes, then it leaped over the hedge and was off.
