On a recent drive to find historic covered bridges we rounded a bend in the rural road and found this alpaca farm. At first when we pulled into the driveway they seemed a little anxious and kept moving along this fence line so I got out of the Jeep and snapped this shot quickly.

Wow... these are beautiful shots. I've never seen an alpaca before. Isn't that odd? You reach 61 and you figure you've probably seen most things. Did you name them yourself? Good names. Fun post.
I'm glad you took the pictures - interesting animals!
Wonderful pictures -- and what fun!
The colors and sharpness are great here. But I can't help laughing at the first and last shots here. Maybe it's the boy in me. :)
Lamas and alpaccas seem allways so full of joy. They just are humorous animals. Nice photos.
giving you her best profile too! lovely capture!
I like all of these photos. Those animals seem to be born for that spot on earth.

They're so cute!! I wouldn't mind having one of those as a pet. :)
Is she SHAVED? Or is that the difference between an Alpaca and a Llama??? I never even heard of an alpaca! Looks like a llama to me! We have a couple of llamas down the road from me -- but I've never seen 'em shaved! LOL! You find the neatest stuff on your travels!
What a beautiful setting, and the creatures are pretty dang cute too ;)
I don't think I've ever seen an Alpaca either!
Love how Ivory was posing like a pro in that last shot!
Great captures - they look 'interesting' when they are shaved.
Lovely photos of the alpacas. Stop by and visit The Gardener Side to see my bluejay photos for Camera Critters this week.
Very cute, Carletta! Great shots! I've never seen an alpaca in person either! :)
Okay now the top and bottom image leave something to the imagination. Ivory was definitely a camera hog though.
I noticed you said you were looking for covered bridges. I passion of mine that has developed in the past six years or so. I have posted most of my findings on my My Photography, My Passion blog. If you have a moment check them out if you like. Click on the covered bridge label to pull them up.

Such cute animals, and you captured them well!
I also liked your sky watch photo. Excellent work!
Alpacas grazing and Enya playing, a perfect peaceful combination.
Looks like someone didn't finish shearing Ivory. More like a French poodle cut.
Fun photos.
Wow!!!! That's a really cool capture. Loved the commentary with it.
Thank you for visiting my blog!
Ooohh....love these, especially the last one. They are adorable! :)
Carletta: Very nicely done on a very nice pair of Alpaca roaming the hills of WV.
Neat critters here! You got some good photos of them too.
I think they are very cute! Nice post :)
What a wonderful surprise to happen upon! Aren't they beautiful? Ivory looks very regal in that last shot!

Beautiful alpacas!! I've heard they are so soft. I'd love to buy a farm and raise them. :o)
Great Camera Critters share!
Oh what cuties! We have an Ebony and Ivory Alpaca set within walking distance from my house.
Beautiful pictures! That lush grass looks like fine dining for alpacas that is.
Beautiful. The view is gorgeous too.
It must feel warm to run fingers through their coat. Good shots. :)
What a wonderful surprise. These are fascinating photos … something I wouldn’t see every day (if ever). Great post for Camera Critters! Thanks for dropping by mine at Small Reflections earlier.
Hugs and blessings,
Alpaca farming. I've heard it is a profitable business. Probably like Chinchilla farming. I crossed a gorilla with a chinchilla to create a larger pelt, but the coat sleeves were too long for most women. :) Pappy
they're amazing with their shorn off hair!
They have the cutest faces don't they? Nice shot
This are gorgeous critters and very photogenic too.
beautiful photos.
Gorgeous shots. Love the contrast in colors.
Me too I have never seen Alpaca before. In fact it's the first time I've heard the word! These are wonderful shots!
I happened by an alpaca farm myself this past week...that had a black and white one together too. Only difference is that the ones I saw had just been sheered - entirely. Nice shots. I never got any good ones.
