At The Fair

This past weekend I attended the nearby fair that was almost in my backyard. Actually you could hear the stage music from my yard. I have loved carousels since I was a little girl when I would ride and ride and ride. Walking through the carnival I spotted these lovely bright horses. Their red trim made them perfect for Ruby Tuesday and the now departed Project Black.

The last night of the fair I was leaving a truck pull (more to come on those) and I saw the lights of the ferris wheel. I knew my camera could not really pick up the image well since I was over the length of a football field away; but I snapped anyway. These are not good images by any means; but the abstract look of both of them appealed to me and so I like them and present them in that respect.

Here's hoping dear readers that your day goes round and round with nothing but joy!
George, I hope you're reading this today because this one's for you!

Please check out Mary's site for more Ruby Tuesday participants.

I love all of these. That last one is really wonderful, but I love the middle one too... and the first close-up of the carousel horse.

Actually, what I am listening to is the Star Trek TNG theme from the neighbor's TV set. He must have bought a season disc because I've been hearing it for HOURS.

I like the carousel pics, bright and gawdy -- just like the carnival.

Love that horse. Reserve that one for my daughter, OK? Looks like you had great fun at the fair.

I liked your "About Me", especially the 'artistic journey'. Sounds good, take me along.

I used to love any event that feature rides. I think I rode every ride ever invented until my adult life intervened. Now, I'm watching my children and grandchildren enjoy them. Once the grandkids get older, Pappy may take them on some of the rougher ones. I think they might do more good than a chiropractor. Pappy

Yea... boy... MOVING lights in the dark -- photographers biggest challenge ever! But they are interesting! Unfortunately, that was how the ones that I TRIED to get of Luz on her BIG beautiful ferris wheel turned out too! I tried every setting I had but to no avail! LOL!
I am a carousel fan too! Back in the day when they had the carousel on the Virginia side of Great Falls, I could go over there and ride all day long - just kept catching that golden ring!!!

The carousel horse shot is just wonderful. The ferris wheel reminds me my fireworks pics - they were abstract, too :o)

The blurry shots are dramatic of course, but the stylish red saddle on the horse is the definitive red here...
