I Found Lucy....Sorta

My first post in this new blogging adventure was about an early morning phone call from a nice elderly lady asking for Lucy. I explained she had a wrong number and almost to herself she had said, “Well I don’t know where she could be then.” That phone call stays around in my head and surfaces every once in awhile when the phone rings. I’m still curious about her. I have a few blogs that I’m accustomed to reading almost daily and last Tuesday I found Lucy. There she was over at Carpe You Some Diem an artist blog by Rebecca Burch. This Lucy wasn’t really my Lucy, but it put a smile on my face. Rebecca blogged about the Museum Of Bad Art (MOBA). The site says it is “the world's only museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, exhibition and celebration of bad art in all its forms. It was founded the night Scott Wilson pulled this particular painting from a trash pile on a Boston Street. It is the cornerstone upon which the entire institution was built.” Rebecca notes the MOBA “is a hilarious online gallery showcasing horrible art that has been rescued from trash bins and thrift stores everywhere. Even funnier than the art is the commentary about each piece by the curators.” The first painting for the museum was Lucy in the Field with Flowers. I like to think this is my Lucy sitting out there in the field, her legs crossed , smelling the flowers, enjoying the sunshine, and not a care in the world. I wonder if she knows somebody is looking for her. I wonder if she even cares.

Hehehehe! I really like that one. Shhhhh... don't tell anyone. My cover will be blown. My appreciation for bad art will lower my street cred. ;)

Lucy sure looks happy!
