Wild Birds

We had six inches of snow this week and this cardinal enjoyed the sunflower seeds in my bird feeder. If you look closely or click to enlarge the photo you'll notice the perfect accessory he wore on his left temple - a little delicate snowflake.

  7. Aw -- what a fashionable cardinal -- all decked out in the latest winter accessories. Boy they are so beautiful in the snow -- no wonder they star on so many Christmas cards! (For the first 60 years of my life, that was the only way I ever saw a cardinal ... I've still never seen one in the snow, but I don't mind just looking at pictures!)
