The vines wind through the fence.
The leaves push through the fence openings.
The grapes hang down to ripen. Hopefully the birds stay away.
Not only are the grapes growing in my little rural space but the frogs are croaking too. I caught this little guy in the garden pond just before sunset as rain began to sprinkle down.
Linking to Rurality and Friday's Fences

So wonderful to have a grape vine! They are amazing the way they twine around things. Nice little friend in the pond. I love the sound of bull frogs croaking at night. xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to be able to grow grapes. mr frog looks a bit red eyed. What has he been drinking?
ReplyDeleteLove grapes and picking the off the vine is the best...It won't be long before you will be enjoying yours...
ReplyDeleteI used to make grapevine wreaths off the vines we had at the lake. I miss the fresh grapes....
sweet shots! love the froggie. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the series of the persistence of vines using the fence for support. Well done.
ReplyDeleteYummy looking grapes, and such a cute frog!
ReplyDeleteHi Carletta, what a lovely grape vine!!! I am thrilled that you have captured a frog so nicely! I haven't had much luck capturing them...perhaps once or twice, as they usually hop out of view. Great post!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff! Too many of us miss the beauty in the natural world.
ReplyDeleteYour grapevine looks healthy- mine is struggling along in year three...the few little grapes put on had fungus issues, so I am back at square one. I just want mine to get big enough so that I have to worry about the birds getting them!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, we still have Tadpoles swimming.
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great job of capturing the beauty of rural life.
ReplyDeleteHi Carletta, Love your photos especially the one of the Grapes... The lighting is perfect in that photo....
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July. God Bless America.
Hugs,
Betsy

These are all so good, but I really love the third one.

ReplyDeleteHappy Independence Day!
Grapes -- so lucious...beautiful vines and wonderful food, what's not to like about them? Cyndi has some on an arbor.
ReplyDeleteA sturdy chain link fence makes a lot of sense for grapes and the support needed as they grow and fruit. And I'll bet it's quite beautiful when the grapes fill in.
ReplyDeleteMr. Frog makes me smile--even he seems to have had it with so much rain.
It's pretty hard to beat the birds to ripe fruit. Good luck with that.
ReplyDeleteYour frog capture is wonderful! What is it about clusters of grapes...they are like the full moon to me, just truly gorgeous and endlessly fascinating!
