It's Scavenger Hunt time again. This week's prompts were definitely harder for me than last week's Irish theme. Hope you enjoy my interpretations.
1. ASIAN
When I pulled out the fortune in this cookie I thought it was pretty appropriate. After all, I think we all feel welcome in this little gathering of Scavenger Hunters!
Fortune cookies are often served as a dessert in Chinese restaurants in the United States and some other countries, but are absent in China. The exact provenance of fortune cookies is unclear, though various immigrant groups in California claim to have popularized them in the early 20th century, basing their recipe on a traditional Japanese cracker. Fortune cookies have been summarized as being "introduced by the Japanese, popularized by the Chinese, but ultimately ... consumed by Americans."

3.DRAW
4. SOFT
What is your favorite "SOFT" drink?
Shhh...that's Pepsi in my glass!
5. TEXTURE
As I sat waiting for my Hubby to get some dental surgery done I noticed all the different textured brick in the side of the building. The Belden Brick Company was organized in Canton, Ohio in 1885. If you look closely you can see some of the bricks have the company trademark name on them. They were scattered in among all the different colors and textures of the other bricks. Linking to Scavenger Hunt Sunday and Marco Monday.
I like all of these photos. I also like the mini history lessons we get with your photos!

Very well done on each of these and how clever on 'soft'. (like minds on the draw - but I really like how you did the peelings with the pencils)
ReplyDeleteVery good!
ReplyDelete:) Funny-when I was looking my first thought was "super," then I saw someone else had just said that in comments! But they really are super-good!
Great composition for your Draw shot! I love the quote for the Texture shot. Nice interpretations this week.

I am constantly sharpening my pencils b/c I write/press hard! :/ And I love brick anything!

ReplyDeleteGreat job on the prompts this week, Carletta. Love them all. I like how you used food and drink as part of them.
ReplyDeleteCreative and well-thought out. Photos excellent as always.
ReplyDeleteLovely interpretations. I love the idea of the Scavenger Hunt meme, but it seems too difficult. so I admire all the more the wonderful job you do! I liked the colored pencil picture a lot; I have always been fond of them and well-sharpened pencils are an everyday joy!
ReplyDeleteGreat interpretations of the prompts! I love the wavy shot, I had a hard time with that one!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for soft. The pencil shavings were a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteI really love your draw picture! It is wonderfully composed.
ReplyDeleteWavy actually made me think about potato chips as well, but I didn't have any on hand! So your wavy shot made me smile.
These are all great interpretations! Love the texture.
ReplyDeleteShhhh--my favorite soft drink is Coke...was Pepsi forever but around here now, they lose their fizz too quick.
ReplyDeleteBUT, sometimes at a restaurant, that serves good Pepsi...oh, I still love it if it has the good old taste I remember.
Lots of great photos this week. I LOVE how you used the word soft. So clever my friend..
ReplyDeleteHugs~
Lots of fun facts to go with your fun photos! I like the pencils and Pepsi is my favorite. Now I am hungry for chips, too! xx
ReplyDeletethis is a nice post with so much to learn 8 Thanks for the hint about the origins of the fortune cookies !
ReplyDeleteCarletta...This is a wonderful collection. You did such a fine job with each of them. The colored pencil one has to be my favorite. Love the colors. Update....it snowed more during the night and is not supposed to stop until 8:00. I am afraid to go outside and look at my tree branches, We lost many in the last snow and this one is ust like it...wet and heavy. How in the world did you all miss the dumping of the white stuff? genie
ReplyDeleteI do like the bricks - there are some in my post for Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to order something from Amazon to see the smiles!
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Ha..I wish I had some of that wavy-goodness right now! :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool items for the scavenger hunt! I love the colored pencils and shavings!
ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job with this scavenger hunt. The second time I went to China I took some fortune cookies with me. On my first trip I learned that the Chinese had never heard of them.

ReplyDeletelemon with your coke. interesting. need to try that.

Great shots!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shot of colored pencils!!! Who would have thought that leaving the shavings from sharpening them would add so much to the picture? NOT I!!! You are brilliant!
ReplyDeleteAnd brilliant is what you were to think of soft drink!!!! I couldn't think of anything but a stuffed animal!!! Boy, do I feel dumb when I participate in these things!!!
I don't eat Chinese food, so I didn't think of fortune cookies, but I love that....however I DID think of WAvy Lays!!! Just, my hubby ate all of them!!!
Great post!
I especially like the texture photo!
