I was out a couple of weeks ago looking for barns to photograph and found quite a few on that particular outing all along the same route. On Monday I posted a Mail Pouch barn (click here) that I thought was the best one I'd ever seen. Literally a couple of hundred yards before that barn the fence above caught my attention. I'm always on the lookout for barns with quilt blocks so imagine my surprise to find a fence with the quilt squares. As it was just off the road I was past it when the barn came into view. I immediately pulled just off the road and took pictures of the barn and then decided I'd turn around and go back and figure out how to get a photo of the fence. Well, there was no other way than to stop in the middle of the road (yes, I know) but Hubby watched for traffic while I took two quick shots. I only wish I had a fence like this of my own. I'd sure have my own quilt squares!
Linking to Friday's Fences.
Beautiful fence you show with some beautiful squares.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment on my blog.
Wish you a good day / good weekend :)

How cool is that? These quilt squares are a very rare find! Maybe an artist lives behind the fence.
ReplyDeletethat is very original.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen the quilt squares on fences before. That is a neat idea and I am glad you got a picture of it. Sometimes people put interesting things in places where we can't get to them. What are they thinking (grin)
ReplyDeletei have never seen a quilt fence before - but think it's a great idea! LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteHow unique...I can relate to being in the middle of the road...you have to be very quick to get the shot! That mail pouch barn is awesome too!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture and I had to laugh at your write up, too. It's always good when you have a "look out" with you!
ReplyDeletedefinitely something i've never seen in blogland before! very cool! thanks for risking life and truck to get these shots!
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique and classy design/idea for a fence!!! I also LOVED your mirror mirror image of the blue jays!!
ReplyDeleteSorry it's taken me so long to repay your visit from Tuesday/Wednesday...not home long enough to take the time to thoroughly peruse you blog posts!!
Seems that quilting has broadened out to different areas. I like the ones on the barns and now the fences.
ReplyDeleteIt's really great! Glad you had your partner to watch for traffic :)
ReplyDeleteNow, that's pretty cool! A quilt fence. One of a kind.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is wonderful...I would love to have something like that.
ReplyDeleteToo awesome!!!! I love this. I have a confession to make--all the great decorated fences out here have given me some inspiration. I used to make glazed tiles and I also paint and quilt. I love the quilt designs on barns. So, I thought, why don't I start making "Fence Art" to sell. I will likely stick with Southwestern designs here where I live, but I can see doing some quilt square ones too. This is exactly what I envision! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks for telling me the link was wrong for my new FF. Hope that doesn't mess up too many people.
Well, how cool is that?! I'd never seen any on fences before. Very creative!
ReplyDeleteglad you took some shots. It was really great to see this.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first quilt fence I've seen. You did a great job of getting this photo. I hope you can get your own quilt fence some day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative and lovely idea!
ReplyDeleteThat's a first for me too- how interesting!
ReplyDeleteOh now, this is original. Like you, always on the lookout for barn quilts but never thought of seeing them on privacy fences. A fence that can use some decoration, imo. And good job lookout hubby.
ReplyDeleteThat's neat. I've never seen the quilt blocks on a fence.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a fence with quilt blocks. Very cool! Makes the fence so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThis fence looks really cool!! Glad you found this fence to share!!
ReplyDeleteOh I really love that fence, I would stand in the middle of the road also for that. B
ReplyDeletea quilt fence. that is a great idea.
ReplyDeletefinally getting around to commenting on this FF ... away for an anniversary trip. big hugs. (:
Oh, that fence is simply wonderful. If I had a fence, I'd do this, too.
ReplyDeleteI could only vaguely remember this...this would be a great idea. Seeing it made me think of what block I might chose...the second from the left.
ReplyDeleteOnly mine would have just a plain square in the middle. One name it is known by is Hole in the Barn Door. That would fit for me.
Now to think of the colors I would want to use! Maybe we will encourage each other with this...we have both talked about it forever, and if you are like me...was thinking about it even before!
I am thinking just a 4' c 4' or smaller....no pace for the big one.
