When you're weary
Feeling small
When tears are in your eyes
I will dry them all
I'm on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Feeling small
When tears are in your eyes
I will dry them all
I'm on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Sail on Silver Girl,
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
If you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
If you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Lyrics: "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel
Linking to Thursday Theme Song and Skywatch.
One of my very favorite songs! Great job - I love seeing what songs people think of to go with the photos...this has been so much fun!
ReplyDeleteVery clever Carletta, co-ordinating the photos of bridge and the sailing sloop.
ReplyDeleteIs that bridge a road or rail bridge or both and where is the location of these photos?
Cheers
Colin (Brisbane.Australia)
Oh my Carletta....this was a most wonderful choice for this week [I'm glad you shared your interpretation talents to the lyrics...awesome job] --- and the song, One of My All Time Favorites!!!

ReplyDeleteThis is so good. I love your first photo!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots and I love that song. I remember the original version from way back when in the Simon and Garfunkle days, and more recently one of the more moving moments from the 9-11 concert to raise money not long after that horrible day was when Paul Simon sang that song. In case you haven't seen that one here's a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNM9PDB5jo0
ReplyDeleteLovely photos to go with one of my favorite songs! I once received a letter that said "listening to Bridge Over Troubled Water and thinking of you"...I've never forgotten how it made me feel.

Colin,
ReplyDeleteThis is a road bridge over the river connecting Williamstown, West Virginia to Marietta, Ohio.
I was sitting under the bridge last weekend by the river watching boat races (more photos later) when I noticed the sky above the bridge. There is a pedestrian walkway on the bridge as well.
Great post!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River. Now you've started the song playing in my head.
