  4. That quote is so true... We do everything we can to keep dandelions OUT of our yard... Do you realize that each one of those little white diddly-bops blows and makes a new Dandelion.. That's why some yards have SO SO SO many....

Hope you have a good week.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  5. Dandelions have never been weeds in my estimation! Just too much a part of our childhoods, blowing on their seed heads and wishing...just too pretty a herald of spring, so yellow in the green grass! And they are edible too. :-)

Thanks for your comment on my latest fence post. Hope you are having a lovely Sunday.

  8. I'm someone who loves and encourages dandelions. :) I'm sure my neighbors hated me when I lived in town. Lovely photos.

  10. Good God, I am slipping!
This time #10 on the comment list.
I have to agree with Betsy, dandelions and those fluffy things are a bloody pest. Did you know that puppies and kittens are intrigued with the "fluffy flying" things and chase them and gobble them! The result is a trip to the vet. They clog up their guts.
I must admit I did a real good tour of the CBD today watching the gobbling Ibises! Pity I didn't have my fine tickets with me, as I watched families with kids, joyfully feeding them, their not wanted MacDonalds! Some doing it right next to signs of "DO NOT FEED THE BIRDS (Ibis)". I reckon I could have got the BCC at least a couple of thousand dollars!
    So today's scoreline:
    Satisfied Ibis - 10
    Foolish people - Zilch.
    Cheers
Colin ( the scourge of the Ibis)

  11. I've given up on trying to keep the buggers out from my yard. Why don't the deer eat them instead of my wife's roses? I never considered photographing them, only trying to keep them in check. These are great shots and now you've intrigued me to do likewise. Thanks for the comment on my fungi and seeing the starfish in the one. I thought I might be over-imagining it a bit on that.

  15. Weeds are plants growing in the wrong place. A field of dandelions is quite pretty. Shock horror Colin will say. Colin you need a camera and a blog to shoe all these interesting things you see. Great shots Carletta.

  18. I like your quote ;). It is absolutely right! And since dandelions are a plague on lawns anyway, photographers can create those beautiful macro shots of it. Nice work!

  19. Wonderful macros. I know that quote and used to try to pretend I was growing my dandelions on purpose (back when we had a house and yard and all that)...now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever seen a dandelion in Florida. I'm sure it isn't because people are such good weeders, they must not grow here.
