Hmmm! Fence score - I will give it 2 out of 10. Still it does possess a rustic charm. I loved the movie, "To Kill a Mockingbird", but I don't recall seeing a mockingbird in the movie? So this is the first mockingbird I have ever seen. Somehow I thought they were the size of a crow! That bird looks the size of a small robin! Thank you for the bird variety lesson. Horrendeous train trip today into and out of the CBD, but wait for it, it didn't rain, thus the "two legged ferals" were out - ha ha! They don't like water, it cleans them. What a great shot! Mockingbirds are such cheeky little birds...they used to give my poor cat fits! They would chase her across the yard, swooping down on her and pecking at her head. She had to slink across the yard, from hiding place to hiding place... it was actually kind of funny to see a cat afraid of a bird! Have a great day!
I like these birds. Have seen then here in my backyard and photographed a few. To me, they are slower in flight than a Blue Jay but the impression I always have is that it is a sick blue jay. Then I see the white tail feathers along the edges. Mockingbird.
Since I was hacked I had to give up my old user name and the blogs that went with it.
What a cute little fellow. We don't have them here and it's been a long time since I've seen a Mockingbird. I love that old rustic fence, it looks as though it's been around a lot of years.
This is the one time I'd enjoy some background music of the mockingbird, Carletta. Usually find it hard to concentrate on the photo or post if the music is too much. Glad this fellow was patient enough to wait for you to shoot.
I love these birds! We have a mockingbird alarm clock (the real one who perches on a pole outside our door)...I love coming awake to his song.
ReplyDeleteif only we could hear him chirp a little. ha. ha!! great shot. (:
