  1. OK, great action shot, but what type of bird is it?
This must be an American practice with these bird feeders, I have never seen one here.
You just see here open bird feeders with seeds - sometimes results in all out bird brawls!
Also what actually is that lump stuff in the cage?
Well done with the photograph and the action of that "mystery" bird.
    Cheers

  4. Gorgeous White-Breasted Nuthatch, Carletta. We have bunches of them here also. They will chatter at me when I am outside... Cute little birds!!!

  7. You got that right! These little devils are fast and very seldom stay to dine with the rest of the birds, opting to enjoy their meal alone.

  11. All those little creepers (nuthatch?) work so hard for their feed -- darting up and down -- seems like they'd use more calories than they take in! Lovely picture.

  12. Perfect title! I love to watch the nuthatches at the feeder. It's hard to get a shot of them without coming up with a blur.

  13. From the looks of this shot, your babies are just as hungry as ours. We have really ben feeding them lots these past weeks. genie

  17. Hi there - great picture! We used to have a different species of Nuthatch in the garden in the UK - but we don’t have any here in Australia.
