A lonely fence post wrapped in barbed wire in front of a lichen covered tree. Look closely at the right side of the tree and you'll notice a rusting cable.
You never know what you might find traveling a back road in the country.
Linking to Friday's Fences.
that makes me want to take a hike. great view. (:
ReplyDeleteI agree, you never know what you might find traveling the back roads. I like the wooden fence across the creek.
ReplyDeleteLots of interesting things in those country backroads. I really like the fence over the stream! Nice shots!
ReplyDeletei know firsthand how hard it is to keep a fence up across a creek! :)
ReplyDeletenice finds!
Great photos! That fence post is so rough and the fence over stream is really interesting!!
ReplyDeleteanother fabulous old weathered post! I love them
ReplyDeleteI really like both of these!
ReplyDeletegreat snaps on your travels; we now think 'memes' when out and about don't we? You did well.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you were traveling back roads and came upon this fence. The wooden part looks more modern than the fence post.
ReplyDeleteVery nice shots, love the first one.
ReplyDeleteI love the fence over the stream but I'm amazed it hasn't been damaged by debris in the water. The other fence post does look a little lonely, looks like it has been there awhile.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm wondering, why a fence across the creek? Maybe it's an ongoing dispute between neighbors.
ReplyDeleteThe fence across the creek is interesting - guess it might keep cows out??? Nice photo -
ReplyDeletegreetings from a "state cousin" in Virgina!
Isn't that the truth that you never know what you'll find... Lots of photo ops down just about every back road, that's why I love traveling them so much! I wonder if that fence will wash out in the spring when the water level rises.
ReplyDeletegreat finds...love old fences...
ReplyDeleteVery nice!! Love the gate across the creek...get's the job done!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful find and I see more barb wires in the second photo.
ReplyDeleteFriday Fences
Great shots, love the gate!
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Interesting!
ReplyDeleteMan I LOVE Fences!! Great shots Carletta--Have an awesome weekend my friend!

Hi Carletta
ReplyDeleteThis post and that gate like fence in the gully brought back memories
of my youthful pony club days at Boomi and Moree in the 1950's.
We would be taken for cross country eventing into paddocks and would jump our horses over such obstacles as that - sometimes the horse baulked and just the rider would go over the fence - ha ha.
Strange no one was seriously injured - just their pride was dented! The ages of the riders was between 8 and 16 years!
Returning now to updates on the "Shoot Out at the OK Corral" - ha ha!
Love that second shot- had to blow it up to see it better. That's an elaborate method of fencing a creek.
ReplyDeleteA fence across a creek is unusual.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I normally use the area around a creek to get past a fence, looks like these guys have outsmarted me :-(
ReplyDeleteyou really wonder why it is there. Great shot of this unexpected fence.
ReplyDeleteNice shots, especially I like the first one.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
Somehow I missed your Fridays Fences last week! These are very nice shots!
