Friday's Fences

I took this in the parking lot of a clinic where my Hubby's doctor has an office. As  I looked out across the wooden posts and iron finials I  thought how the design reminded me of a medieval castle. I guess no matter how old she gets a  girl never leaves her fairy tales behind. :)

    Love this! It reminds me of iron fences around old cemeteries, or around the yards of big Louisiana mansions! Wonderful!

    The elaborate decorations of this fence bring to mind many different things - from Victorian manors to isolated scary cemeteries. I like your Friday theme of "fences" as it allows us the reader to try and figure out what we see in these fences in addition to what you have written. So very interesting

    I agree, very medievil is some ways. Jut as well there's no fog/mist, it would be eerie. Fabulous shot.

    Hi Carletta.

    Well a fence is to me a fence - ornate, barbed, wired, wooden and some real strange ones!
    That fence would deter "would-be" ferals/thieves etc. who usually are drunk or on drugs, who may have ideas of breaking in - Just imagine the screams and screeches if they got caught on one of those spikes!
    Oh the joys of it! Great fence - I like it! Oh I am wicked - imagine impaled there, in agony until the police arrive.
    Thanks for the "Ground Hog" information, I now know that it is a Pennsylvania German custom, has pagan similarities and is also Celtic!
    You are right - it is a small World. Your blog report and here the same night on the TV news!
    Do you think, maybe ???, that I could start a "kangaroo day"???
    Now just where would I start?

    Very interesting that they use wooden posts. Over here the fences would be all iron.
    It's very pretty, as well as serving the purpose!

    Great post of the fancy-dancy gate/fence...Fairy Tale Gate sounds good to me too.
