The weekend is over and here it is Monday again. Not much going on Round The Bend. I did watch the Super Bowl but mostly for the commercials. My favorites were the M&M and Pepsi commercials and Detroit's push at patriotism with Clint Eastwood. I passed on halftime before it hardly got started. It's just my opinion; but Madonna is still trying to be something she's not.
I did have some yard visitors this weekend that were very exciting. Saturday a whole rafter of turkeys came through my background. We always have some around during the breeding season and into fall but hadn't seen any for a few months. There were approxiamtely 25 together. I did manage to get a photo of a few as they were spread out and one did wander underneath the bird feeder to eat a little fallen birdseed. Shortly afterward about fifteen deer crossed the backyard as well. Photos to follow later in the week. Those were the highlights of my weekend.
My train trip weekend last October gave me many barns to share each week. Today I'm posting the last one from that weekend. This one literally sat beside the side road we were on and was hard to photograph. You can make out a couple of fence posts in the lower left hand corner. The fence ran alongside the road with no where to pull off. The barn is plain but quaint in its small surroundings. I want so much for someone to put something on the silo for decoration. I vote for a big barn star or a painted American flag. It would be so much more charming don't you think?
Linking to Tricia's Barn Charm.
Glad you liked the "Commercials" on US TV coverage of the Super Bowl. I picked the losing side!
ReplyDeleteCan't win them all eh?
I tried to watch but almost here after ever minute or so a "huddle", which meant commercials here ( Aussie ones - seems the Coverage here couldn't afford the ridiculous US prices!)
I have sent you an e-mail of my summation!
Thankfully I was spared Madonna, thus I still have a TV set that works! Taking axes or some other device to big plasma TV sets is now out of my financial zone - ha ha!
Now to your big white barn! Actually I think Madonna might get a thrill????? Best I end that subject.
Advertisements on the White projectile, what about this one:
"Visit the Great Land Down Under"
- AUSTRALIA - then: "Avoid February ( Sauna) and August (winds)!"
Maybe then - BUT - "Not necessary but appreciated", Bring plenty of loot to spend"!
See what happens to Aussies when they watch big sporting events in the USA?
See ya!
Cheers
Colin (HB)
i think it is a lovely place. a flag or quilt block might almost overpower it in its simplicity! :)
ReplyDeleteWahh! Who turned Mr. Clean loose on a barn?
ReplyDeleteLove the shape.. and the contrast.
White barns are relatively rare around here, so that makes this one doubly charming. I agree that the silo would be a great place for an American flag.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing pictures of your visitors.
I love old barns, too. I also think a star, flag or even a quilt block would look nice painted on it. I've been thinking about painting something on the side of our white outbuilding, but haven't did it yet. Glad you visited my blogsite, hope you can find a way to display pictures on your old camera. Maybe, just attach the wires to the back of the camera.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful barn! I like the simplicity of this one. Looking forward to see the pictures of the deer and the turkeys!
ReplyDeleteYou really did a fine job of capturing this one. Love that big silo right there in the front. Sorry you are running out of the ones from your October trip...now you are gong to have to come over our way. We have lots to share with you ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis one is almost blindingly white!
ReplyDeleteI really love this barn, I don't see too many all white barns.
ReplyDeleteLove the barn picture, Carletta. That one looks so neat... Wonder if the inside is as clean as the outside looks???? ha ha
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
I love this white barn...it is charming in its simplicity. I do hope we get to see a shot of those wild turkeys...
ReplyDeleteLove this old barn. I'll have to look back through my photos from that trip to see if I have this one!
ReplyDeleteno kidding about Mr. Clean ... that is too cute. i'm thinking these folks are perfectionists. wow!! great shot.
ReplyDeleteI love the white barn against the colorful background! I think it's already charming, but the star or flag would be great!
ReplyDeleteI love these white barn. Very neat!
ReplyDeleteRed Barn
I love the barn just as it is. It really stands out against the fall colors and I bet it looks great with a lush green background too!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I LOVE the all-white barn! It's unique. This is a fabulous image, in my humble opinion. (I liked Madonna, too.....never have been her fan, but I think she did a relatively good job of singing. )
ReplyDeleteI think this barn is perfectly charming as it is, but I can also see it with a flag painted on the silo if it were tastefully done. Great looking photo!
ReplyDeleteCharming white barn. I love the little bit of fence in the foreground and wonderful texture!
ReplyDeleteoh this one is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! It looks like a working barn and has been so well kept up!
ReplyDeleteYou don't see to many white barns...this one looks so pristine and well kept! Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful barn.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
That is a beautiful little barn!
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, Madonna is not football material. Just doesn't go with football at all. Of course I was rooting for Eli since he is the brother of Peyton!
Beautiful photo and processing! I like it just as it is.
ReplyDeleteSo shiny white and charming! I love the branches and fence at the edges.
ReplyDeleteOhhh yes, a flag, for sure! This is one very white barn & silo!
ReplyDeleteYou really did shoot a bunch of barns on that trip in October... ya'll must have covered a million square miles! LoL! =)
Thanks for joining, Carletta! =)
Yeah, it needs a little something. I love the mental picture of you pointing your camera out the train window as you tootled along. (I'd love to take another Amtrak trip -- we traveled half-way across the country but it was pre-digital; I didn't even take our camera.)
ReplyDelete...I think some birds in flight painted on there would great
