I took this photo back in October on the weekend trip Hubs and I took and forgot I had so I'm posting it today for Friday's Fences. The sky was somewhat washed out so I added a texture. The little white 'sticks' you can barely make out on the back mountain are wind turbines.
This scene would be altogether different today. As I type this it is pouring snow and we are expecting
two to four inches. It will be our first substantial snowfall of the season.

Hi Carletta, Great picture of Friday's Fences.... Love those West Virginia photos....
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
I'm glad you remembered this picture and posted it today. You're making me want to get back to West Virginia again.
ReplyDeleteEven when I enlarged the photo I could not see the wind turbine, you must have good eyes lol. Love the old fence posts
ReplyDeleteVery nice scenery! The forest is starting to take the beautiful autumn colors and when I enlarge I can see the wind turbines;o)

Happy day****
look at those colors. wow. i love fall. lovely scenery. (:
ReplyDeleteThe texture works well with this photo, Carletta.
ReplyDeleteYou may have more snow than we have here in Canada. The weather has been weird.
Nice rustic fence...great view too!
ReplyDeleteso very nice!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate these "softer" views as a break from a lot of vividness in photos. I, for one, get carried away sometimes with the "vivid" setting on my camera. Does this fence run along the crest of a mountain or hill?
ReplyDeletebeautiful view behind that fence.
ReplyDeletePicturesque!

I LOVE that photo, it looks so peaceful there! No snow here in Belgium!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping over at my blog! Yes, I too had a childhood centered around my grand parents who kept chickens.
ReplyDeleteYour image that you captured here is just beautiful! Thanks for sharing. It makes me want to jump in the car and take a countryside drive!
Those look like locust posts. When we were kids we would cut locust trees to make post. They last for a long time without rotting.
ReplyDeletea lovely view for Friday's Fences. Don't envy you the snow, though I love to see photos from afar
ReplyDeleteI would love to see that view now...it is beautiful as is, but just simply would like to be home in the hills one more time when it snows.
ReplyDeleteI love the split wood posts
ReplyDeleteSuperb capture!
ReplyDeleteI love the beautiful soft colours in your photo...hope you are enjoying the snow!
ReplyDeleteThe worn timber and barbed wire give this fence character and goes well with the scene captured between the posts. I like the little bit of red peeping through the grass.
ReplyDeleteCarletta, I'm glad you found this photo. Are you near Thomas?
