Friday's Fences

I took this photo back in October on the weekend trip Hubs and I took and forgot I had so I'm posting it today for Friday's Fences. The sky was somewhat washed out so I added a texture. The little white 'sticks' you can barely make out on the back mountain are wind turbines.
This scene would be altogether different today. As I type this it is pouring snow and we are expecting
two to four inches. It will be our first substantial snowfall of the season.

  6. The texture works well with this photo, Carletta.

You may have more snow than we have here in Canada. The weather has been weird.

  8. I appreciate these "softer" views as a break from a lot of vividness in photos. I, for one, get carried away sometimes with the "vivid" setting on my camera. Does this fence run along the crest of a mountain or hill?

  10. Thanks for stopping over at my blog! Yes, I too had a childhood centered around my grand parents who kept chickens.

Your image that you captured here is just beautiful! Thanks for sharing. It makes me want to jump in the car and take a countryside drive!

  11. Those look like locust posts. When we were kids we would cut locust trees to make post. They last for a long time without rotting.

  13. I would love to see that view now...it is beautiful as is, but just simply would like to be home in the hills one more time when it snows.

  15. The worn timber and barbed wire give this fence character and goes well with the scene captured between the posts. I like the little bit of red peeping through the grass.
