Revolutionary War Monument in Sepia

This week I have followed Mary, our gracious hostess, into the cemetery to find my subject for Sepia Scenes. I saw this monument in the same cemetery as the Indian Mound I posted about here.
This monument is for the daughter and granddaughter of American Revolutionary War officiers. She died at the age of seventy and was buried in the cemetery in 1852.

Besides the basic sepia tones in this image I also added some illumination effects.
This is my original photograph which I really like as it is. The shadows on the monument are from the tree under which the gravesite is located.

    The first one looks very gothic.

    What a beautiful monument. It offers a view that you don't see these days. The illumination over the statue adds an almost divine look - as if your prayers are being heard. Which they are...

    A lot of emotion in that statue. Each of them has a different feel to it, I'd have to agree with Nessa.

    I do like the original too! The sepia actually seems to detract from this particular statue -- UNTIL you cast the sun light on it! That was genius! Very nice effect!

    Quite an interesting gravestone.
    I like how it looks in sepia, and the illumination you have added to the second one is stunning.

    Martha was obviously much loved. What an amazing tribute. The sepia is perfect for this, the illimination gives it a whole other aspect. It's beautiful, Carletta.
