This is an old antique tin windup toy that sits on a shelf in my Mom's home. She got it at an auction years ago. While I feel the sepia effect is perfect for the old toy it doesn't show the wonderful colors of the tin lithograph.
I converted the color shot to sepia and added a grainy film filter.

Marvellous post with beautiful effect!
Though I like sepia shots in this case I liked the color better.
I am just the opposite of Dr. John--I like the sepia best. But isn't it wonderful you can show us both!
Fantastic that the paint is so fresh looking!
Wow, what a different feel between these two shots.
Great in sepia Carletta. Antique toys make for a good subject.

Very cool shot!
The sepia shot is nice, but I like the color shot better.
What does the doggy do if one winds him up?
Yes beautiful in sepia. This is a good object to put in sepia, doesn't go with everything.
Interesting how color or lack of color changes everything. MB
Very sweet toy. I agree, this one needs color to show it to its best advantage. That roof is great.
Nice how each shot emphasizes different elements.
I like it that you showed the original as well as the sepia for this one, Carletta. The toy is in such good shape!
Carletta, thanks for showing both the sepia and the color photos! That was a great idea! And thank you for the appropriate accompanying song! Ha! Happy Sepia Scenes!
they are both lovely
the color is wonderful and the sepia adds to the antique feel
what an interesting toy!
however, i must be with those who prefer the colour shot in this case.
I agree with you on both points. It's a good choice for a sepia conversion, but monochrome doesn't really do it justice. I think I might try lighting a full-color shot differently though. Not sure how exactly, probably have to futz around with it a lot and keep working it until I found something I liked.
Hi!
I like them both! The sepia adds age to an already ageless toy! Thanks for stopping by my place. Have a warm day!!

P.S. This morning it was -20 with a -40 wind chill, burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
This is so sweet. I like each of them for different reasons. I can't tell, is this a small toy? It looks really interesting.
